    Hi!
I'm looking for a 1964 Buick Tachometer 7000 rpm which is pictured in the 1964 Buick accessoriesbrochure. It's difficult to see how it actually looks like. I have been offered a couple of tachometers on Buickv8 forum and one looks quite close.
This tachometers where mounted either on top of dash to the left of the instrument cluster or probably also as a knee knocker.
Do anyone have some correct pictures so I can compare.
I even got some information that they came with a flat or satin black cup so it could be painted in the color of the car?
Also that they were the same in 62, 63 and 64.

Would really appreciate some expert help from the Buick V8 Team!

    Thanks

    Joern

My understanding is that 1962 is the only year for a 7k rpm nailhead tach, from 63 on they were 6k rpm - at least as they were equipped from the factory. My 1962 Wildcat knee knocker 7k rpm tach looks just like 63-64, of course a different console was used in 65-66 so the tach mounts and looks different (except for the face, they remain the same). Also, I have only ever seen chrome cups and bezels for 62-64. This is the first time I have heard about a 7k tach for 64, but I wasn't alive then so I am sure someone else knows more about this than me. Hope this helps.

I agree with Warren. My 62 WC has the 7k tach and all 63 and 64s I have seen had a 6k tach.

Include a pic of the tach in my 62.
