I am converting a 1969 Riviera to a console shift and would like to replace the exist steering column with a tilt console steering column. I am not sure if the Riviera columns are unique to the 69 Riv or will any full size 69 Buick tilt console column work? Will a 1970 Riv or full size Buick tilt console column work? Need advice and a column
The only console shift was on the Riv Chuck . Or the Wildcat which used a console similar in looks to the "A" body console . Tilt steering column would need to come from a Riv . . Unless you don't care about the tilt column having the nub for the shift lever I believe 69 and 70 were the same . I have a 69 Electra that I plan to convert to console shift . I have the console , Buckets and Tilt column waiting . Only thing I have extras of is the bucket seats . And a Column shift tilt column and maybe a console
I just bought the 69 Riv console Jerrod was selling so I am set there but will continue to look for the column. Thanks
I have a black tilt column with steering wheel, ignition and key from a 1969 Riv GS that had the console shifter. Let me know if you're interested and I can send pics. Only thing is I'm in Canada so shipping might be a bit higher.
Check this lead I posted in the Leads section: https://milwaukee.craigslist.org/pts/d/port-washington-1969-buick-riviera/7123700770.html
This car is a column shift based on the photos. I did check with him on the wheels but he had sold them already. I sent you a PM by mistake on the column. Thanks for the heads up on the parts car.
Thanks Brian, I am on the track of a 69 Riv column and I am told it has to be a 69, no other model but I am going to keep your info in case I need to get back to you.
