I'm just about ready to get my 57 Special repainted. It was origionally antique ivory( creamy yellow) and garnet red poly (dark dark red, more dark brown than red) on the lower portion. We have chosen a flax color its called which is very close to the antique ivory from 91 -93 buicks, cads. and a dark garnet metalic used on 2005 le sabres for the lower part. This color shows a little more hint of dark red to it than the origional and is more appealing. Will these suttle variations from the codes make any difference? Or is there leeway allowed in color variation and still be considered the correct color as per the code? Other than a front disc brake conversion, the car is origional and is to be used as a nice driver and to go to as many cruises and local shows as we can.I'm kind of wondering about appraised values etc. Thanks Jim.
