Buick 1.jpg Buick 2.jpg Hello everybody,

two days ago I purchased a 79 V8 Riviera in very good condition and now I'm waiting to complete technical inspection which is obligatory here in Germany. I can't wait to get this beautiful car next week!

I've been a car guy since my childhood ;) and do a lot of service and repair in the garage in my house. I've just restored a Fiat 500 "Giardiniera" (estate) which from size and power is the exact opposite of the Buick :)! My daily driver is a 99 Jeep Cherokee XJ. In my spare time I play the bass in a Zydeco Band: www.zyco-music.de

When I get the Buick next week I'm sure I'll have a lot of questions...

    Cheers
    Michael

Smokey15 So old that I use AARP bolts.

Welcome Michael! Very clean Riv. I like them best with no vinyl top. Nice pic of you and your band mates. Which one is you?

Yes, I think it was built in/for Europe, never drove in his homeland, it has a km/h speedometer.

Is it geared for the Autobahn?

I hope so! When I get it next week I'll check this out. The only problem people here have with some foreign cars is overheating at high speed/revs on the autobahn, but there are solutions for this problem. Furthermore the autobahn is so crowded these days that you hardly can speed over 140 km/h :(! But a lot of stop and go may also cause problems...
