That are one gorgeous Burick! I am a fan of the 1968/1969 summer of luv Bertha Butt Buicks.

And the color. Color and car features combined correctly, make me drool like a dog staring at a big pile of bacon!

I didn't see this car on eBay - I don't think it was listed on there and I'm not sure if the previous owner was a member here. It came up on a Facebook marketplace ad listed in Long Island in NY. I got in touch with them the second I saw it and bought it the next day when I went to see it - the car is so nice and the owner seemed like a really good guy.

There is a similar one listed on eBay right in AZ. I didnt pay anywhere that price though. https://www.ebay.com/itm/1968-Buick-Skylark/332845044902

The car felt a little sluggish when I got it - I knew the Buick PP 350 should have a little more pep than it had. And the previous owner told me it had a TH400 swap done as well - but it didnt feel like a th400. I thought maybe the sluggishness was due to a really low stall converter or something. I took a closer look and the the car has a th700r4 swap done to it - I didnt even think about counting the shifts when I frost drove it. Looks like there's some kind of adapter set up on it to fit the 7004r to the Buick block. That was kind of cool to see - has a nice O/D trans on it. I adjusted the TV cable a couple notches and got the shifts a little better.

But that didn't seem to be the cause of the sluggishness - I checked the timing and saw it was like it like 25ish degrees AFTER TDC. No wonder it was a dog. So no problem, I'll just adjust the timing. But when I tried, the distributor would not turn. It took quite a but of penetrating fluid and coaxing to get it to turn. I finally got it to around 10 deg BTDC - and the car really woke up. It has a TA Stage 1 intake on it - I assume everything else is stock.

Set it based on the total timing without the vacuum advance. This will require a timing light.

10 deg BTDC at idle is where I got it set where it felt the best seat of the pants and not pinging at WOT high load - vac adv hose disconnected and plugged and obviously with a timing light. This put it at about 36 deg BTDC all in. I'm only using 93 octane gas in it.

I ordered a pertonix ignitor III for it - I'm going to put that in to replace the points. Hopefully that will work out nicely.

Has an exhaust leak at the driver side manifold/downpipe joint that I need to address and some paint correction and a wet sand job on the paint. That's all I plan on doing to it other than enjoying it. Maybe a cam upgrade at some point.
