As the laws change regarding handsfree mobile use and our newer cars are more tightly integrated with Smartphones the "tech gap" when driving our classic cars is getting bigger. Of course some of us don't care but for others it's hard not to want to leverage all the tools the phone offers. Google, Amazon and others are launching smart devices for the car that make it easier to connect to your Smartphones handsfree to manage maps, answer calls and play music. These new devices are low priced and connect to a standard cigarette lighter. Here is one example:

You can also search for Echo Auto on Amazon for their new device (not generally avaialable yet).

Has anyone installed the Android Auto app on their phone?

Yes @Brett Slater I did. I was not that impressed, I found it annoying and ultimately uninstalled. I thought it could be good but some of the functions I most needed while in the car were not easy to access. However, I have not used it in concert with a new car designed for the app. Lastly, I'm sure it has changed twice in the past 6 months... so who knows...
