Thanks again everyone for the welcome messages and compliments on the car. Just a little more info/background... This is my first classic car, my wife and I have wanted one for years and we were finally in a position to afford one, so we went for it. I don't have much experience working on cars, so I will probably be picking your brains and asking for advice along the way. We are looking forward to enjoying the 72 for years. It does still have drum brakes which I would like to upgrade to disc at some point. There is an oil leak that I was aware of before purchasing and was told the oil pan should be replaced. It's been re-tapped already and seeps oil.
Nice . Welcome from The New England Area. I doubt very much it has 198K on it - not that its not possible but in that condition and never I've seen one with that many miles on it either. Cars from that era were largely considered disposable and most never made 100K before being left in a field, barn or junkyard for dead. My 72 suncoupe is the perfect example- pulled it out from under a large pine tree in the woods where it was stripped and left for dead. Not quite done, but getting close to calling it done. coming along
I replaced my commuter with a 2017 Colorado Z71.... Absolutely love it! I did look at the Midnight Edition but it didn't come in a 2 door ( Or they didn't have one ).
