I did my motor with the Krylon 2114 in around 2010, and really loved the color of it.

I'm doing a freshen up of sorts, and couldn't find the Krylon anywhere, so I decided to give the CARS a try...

It's just the wrong color. It's too dark, it's almost magenta. Doesn't match the Krylon at all, nor does it match any of my factory Buick Red parts very well.

I found a couple cans of Duplicolor 1653 at O'Reilly, and I think the color is spot-on to the Krylon, maybe just a tinge more warmth. I think I am going to switch over, just to avoid getting too attached to the discontinued Krylon.

Here I had a balancer I painted CARS red. I laid down a strip of tape, and shot the Duplicolor. Pulled the tape while the paint was still wet, so it's not a completely fair comparison, but I think you can see my point. I knew as soon as I shot it that it was what I wanted. I sprayed some on an inconspicuous area of my Krylon 2114 block, and it more or less disappeared.
