    Mike Wowk Who freakin' cares?

Looks like my buddy Pete is losing the fight to be able to run his 1964 Dodge as a Hemi in FAST even after buying all of the 100% original correct parts. We should have it going in the Spring as a Max Wedge car instead with a standard stroke crank and all other parts to make it Pure Stock legal. Not sure if I'll have the money to get my R/T finished, But hopefully by the Fall it'll be ready for Stanton as well! :3gears:

Yeah, I'll believe that when I see the sway bar

Seriously, sounds like a cool car and I am guessing this will mean a Wowk sighting at the pure Stocks in Sept.......... :beer

You would have loved what I saw in Daytona. A guy from NC did a 62 Sport Fury convert. , 413 cid , 2 fours, black with red interior. Just like it came out of the factory . It was a killer.

Man is that thing UGLY!.........but cooooooooool!!!!!!!!!!! :TU:

62 Super Sports, Venturas, Starliners, and of course, Vettes, were much better Chick magnets back then. All these things would attract are other guys. I guess if you're into that today   , it's OK, but not back then!

Watched the red 62 Dodge in NMCA for years that was run by "Jim?" Whipple. Actually almost got pastthe ugliness, loved to see it run. :TU: :TU: There was another one named "Baby Elephant" that also got "Womped by the Ugly Stick" by that very large guy at the end of the line at Dodge Main.

    Hey!

Watch the Ugly stick comment about those 62's Dodges Dave!

    There Beautiful! LOL!

I know a little about these as my father aquired a 62 Dodge Polara 500 over the summer. It has 45000 miles and the original a 361 4bbl in it right now but we are building a 383 343 hp inline dual quad for it to be installed hopefully by January (we have the correct number carbs, intake and a 62 383 block)

Heres a couple of pictures of the car right after Dad got it in July.

Man I love those 62 Mopars. I still roll my eyes when I hear a GTO lover say the 64 GTO was the first musclecar. These MOPARS, the 421 Cat in 62 etc were it. I can can still see those 62-3 MOPARS in 64-65 wiping up GTOs on and off the strip. Just no contest betwen those push buttons MOPARs and the 4 speed GTOs.

Too bad the LONG RAMS never came on those  We have a set of them and would love to build a car around them.

On the 62 Sport Fury the long rams would not fit because the engine does not sit centered betwenn the inner fenders. This cause it to bump the passenger side. Long rams has the most under the hood star power of all time.

And here all along, I thought they put the carburetors out by the fenders just to make it easier to tune. Sure would help me!

Sure love those wheels. This car wouldn't get it with taxicab caps anythng like these do. Had a set of these on my 60 Vette years ago and loked really good on the Ramrod, too. Unfortunately couldn't keep them there as they rubbed through the back sides of the Ram Air scoops.

I think I recall a Chrysler 300 (F?) convertible in high school that had a cross Ram setup like this. Sweet. Sounded like a 747 when he womped it.

Olds made at least one cross ram that I heard about. Rubrich's old neighbor had it, and was on ebay but pulled off and didn't sell. Would have looked great on Jensen's Aluminum 455.

Just heard from Dan, he's moving the commode back inside the junk school bus due to the cold weather in Michigan again. Hope they fixed the vent fan.

    An accquired taste........

Those '62 Mopars DO take some getting used to. But, I prefer the Plymouth version over the Dodge. Actually cleaner lines, and no extra chrome doo-dads adorning those bulbous lines.
