I lucked out and got a couple of 1970 NOS Emission decals. These are assembly line decals that appear to have been on a big roll that the workers just tore off when needed. Apparently these came out of the assembly plant in a lunchbox. As many of you know I am super picky and have never been satisfied with many reproduction parts. The repro Decals on the market are very inferior. So here is my offer. I will have a reproduction of this NOS made if I can get a commitment and money up front from enough people. When I had the 71's made several years ago it cost me $400. My guess now it would be closer to $450-$500. I would like to shoot for about $30 bucks a person or a little more and each person would get at least two decals. I will keep the remainder to sell in the future. You do the math and figure how many it would take. I will like to see if there are enough responses in the next two weeks. Below are the NOS unit with the reproduction currently on my GSX. As you can see they look nothing alike. This is the later 1970 style by the way that fits on the metal radiator cover not the plastic unit. This is Stage-1 four speed specific. I do not have a Stage-1 auto. If this does not happen I will be happy to use the NOS on my car. Also if you have noticed starting in 71 the decals were made of a superior polyester material. The stuff is almost invincible. If youy look at an original 71 or later you can see what I mean. The 70's were more likely to wrinkle. I will have them done in the better material for long life. If the fine detail is important to you when this is one of the most visible parts under the hood now is your chance. Below are the NOS unit with the reproduction currently on my GSX. As you can see they look nothing alike.

You may wish to check with Jim Osborn reproductions they repro a lot of decals and have reproduced decals that I provided to them copies of and added them to thier inventory and sent me a few at no charge. This may be a better way to have them premently availible at a lower price and no investment from you.

Rusty, I currently have the Osborne decal and it is not the same as the original. Check out my picture shown. It does not look the same. Notice how the red print at top is crooked on the NOS. Strange! I have found that none of the Osborne decals are exact. It looks like they start from scratch and get it somewhat close. I am not trying to bad mouth Osborne as they provide a valuable service for stuff not available anywhere else. I just prefer something more authentic for my car and I know other guys here do as well. Not really trying to make any money just break even. If I make a little then that is a bonus. When all the originals are gone they are gone and that original look will vanish forever. My idea is to have the company I have used to scan it in and get it exact. It also will be on the higher quality material not the cheaper vinly that most reproductions are made of. This stuff is far superior to the vinyl............................As far as the short plastic radiator cover goes. This is not correct for those. I believe those were shorter. I have no model for the early shorter style but maybe it is the same less the diagram of the vacuum routing? Maybe just cutting that off would work? That would be up to you.

Another decal I would really like to have made is the BC code Keep Your GM Car All GM. With the correct part number. I have an original worn air cleaner decal but an NOS to copy would be better. Anyone have one?

Hi Rusty, When I approached them to see if they could do the correct 71 Stage-1 decal I had they balked at it saying they already had one for sale even though it was not correct. This is the reason I wanted to handle it myself. Also the material I am going to have it made in is far superior. I would guess much of the cost is do to this material which is polyester and is expensive as it goes up with oil prices. I also do not want the NOS decal I have to Leave my hands now I have it.
