Hi guys, I recently purchased 72 skylark four door, which was a preference. I will have a lot of questions as I work through this project. The car started like: https://drive.google.com/file/d/11arGNdcsZY3sXeUbKnn-3OhrVuVphjSq/view?usp=sharing The car looked great from far away I pulled off the vinyl roof just in time! https://drive.google.com/file/d/1Ro9LxgOo7Zj4JGYNCWaPAdFbKTNPedVj/view?usp=sharing The fuzzy pickle stage... I am here now, with a lot of work to do: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UuHIUo5uc5vSIOoGlVSnSRzQyTt7f6V7/view?usp=sharing The roof is sealed and I welded the trim holes and badge holes. The goal for this car is for it to eventually be an every day driver car.
It's funny, but you hardly see any 4 doors. The car almost looks like a Skylark limo to me. Good luck with your project. It looks to be in great shape.
Thanks guys! All is not perfect. The mediocre paint job covered some issues, such as a hole in the front fender near the bumper, a rotting battery tray, and a rotting trunk. Otherwise I have been very fortunate in this purchase. The car only has 90k when I bought it, up to 97K. I'm working through the small issues now, such as rust sealing it up. In the works is a body mount swap (I will have a lot of questions when I get to this). The passenger fender is sagging, and patch welding as needed. I will eventually be selling parts for this car as I move through it. Soon will be wheels and hub caps along with the roof trim. Thanks again for the welcome! Looking forward to learning and contributing when I can.
Welcome to the family! That really does look like a super clean 4 door! Too bad so much damage was concealed but congrats on fixing it up. Always have loved that color too!
Welcome mromaus! I just bought a "1972 Buick Skylark Sedan" as well back on 01-04-20' and have been working hard on it since. Let me know if you need anything.
