Spoke with Rob Friday evening. He said that the air "sucked" and they had to shut down early because of rain. Also, plans are to wrap things up this morning due to the forecast of heavy rain on Sunday.

Rob said the low 11 sec. pass by the "Fast" Buick was right off of the trailer and an easy one.

And the biggest news of the weekend, at least for us Pure Stockers, there is now a Certified Stock car in the 11s, As expected, wearing a Bowtie and from Canada. Congrats JJ :beer

It was great to see JJ's car run so well at commerce. Also I got a little more time to visit with JJ than usuall, he is a pretty cool guy.

But certified car in the 11's? I am not questioning the legality of his car, but as one of the organizers of the event, I can asure you there was no certification process available at the Georgia event. Just the standard F.A.S.T. Tech, which Jimmy passed with flying colors.

JJ certified at Stanton, but was unabe to run due to some bearing issues. He was all set to run after certification, but rod noises kept the car from making passes. :blast:

I think I understand where this is kind of going. If I my put it this way. For JJ to cheat and put a bogus motor that is not certifyable in the car and run some number would defeat what he has done over the last 6 or 7 years. If Dan requires him to do a intake head removel for the certification he will do it again. The car will run the numbers as ahown in GA. If yo do the math, what does it take to get 3350lbs down the track at 120mph. Not as much as you think. :beer :3gears: The block deck was marked so that no machine work could be done without notice. As far as the heads and intake you either beleive they are untouched or you beleive they are worked on. It's a Dem or Rep thing since it is an election year.  :moonu: You get to pick which side of truth the man walks. It is true no certification process was at GA and I do understand that.

407 hp at the rear wheels on the chassis dyno, if I remember right.

JJ's no cheater. He's too good of a guy and thinks too much of Factory Stock/Pure Stock to risk that.

We had a lot of fun gabbing on the walkie talkies on the run down and back. Also tipped a few in the evenings in his trailer.

Everybody thought Casey also was a cheater. The car got faster when he tore down to certify and refreshed everything. Others have had similar success.

Some of these factory packages were already optimized with a lot of development behind them and don't need any "tweaking". Especially these very low volume combos. The trick is to get the replacement parts today that get you back there and put them together right. I believe about everything in that L88 is available from GM performance and was used to construct it.

Perhaps it's not my place to comment, but it's my understanding that JJ posted the number a few times at his local track before Stanton as well. Regrettably, after Certification, the Silver Bullet became the Silver Shrapnel :( before it could post the number at Stanton. No sensible person is going to suggest this was intentional so that the engine might be "massaged" afterwards. I have to agree that this particular competitor's integrity is beyond reproach. That said, I can also understand an argument that the Certification Rules require the benchmark run to immediately follow the tear-down. Alas, re-Certification just seems so redundant when it comes to JJ. :TU:
