I recently started my 70 and 72 GS Stage 1 cars from winter storage and noticed both did not have tail, brake, rear side marker lights...The fuses appear ok.. Did not check with volt meter on both sides though..No voltage at rear side marker bulb socket and no voltage on rear tail lamp bulb socket. Front headlights, parking lamps, side marker lamps and front directional signals all work ok. Any ideas?

Check the grounds first. You might even run a jumper wire all the way from the battery just to be sure. After that you will have to start tracing the wires back. Check for a damaged wire loom in the truck area first and keep going. Hopefully you don't need to pull up the carpet in the interior.

It shouldn't be the fusible link !! If it was there would be NO lights at all . There appears to be a disconnect to the rear lights . Its a harness that runs under the carpet on the drivers side from the fuse box all the way to the rear . Its a flat tape like harness . Wires are Aluminum so they are fragile and prone to breaking .

As said check the rear harness in the trunk . I hope the mice didn't get hungry . Its Odd that its both cars .

since there is not enough information:
is the interior light still working?
options like power windows/seat/locks/radio still working?

its still weird that it happened on both cars....

Aluminium Wires, Copper connectors. I would check for corrosion, as different metals can react to each other. In my car, I cleaned all connections before I started driving it. It also helped me find so poor sockets. Good luck with this. It is probably something simple.

Both cars, same problem after winter storage?

RODENTS! Some of them like chewing up electrical wires. Ask me how I know

One day I went out to start one of the cars and the engine trouble light came on. Looked under the hood and some wires to some of the sensors looked like they had been cut using a butter knife--raggedly cut. I couldn't figure out why anyone would do that. A week or so after I had spliced in new wires, the same thing happened to another of my cars. That was about the time I remembered that we have groundhogs in our neighborhood, and occasionally in our yard. I did some research and found that some rodents will actually chew wires all the way through the copper, and that there are repellents you can spray on wires to make them taste bad to rodents.
