How can I help I live in northwest Wichita and my son and I want to of service to those comming in to Wichita for this race. If I knew about how many might be here, we could pull off a BBQ at the track. For those who will be in town on Sunday, we invite you to go to Church services with us. I would be willing to put some effort into this for our guests.
Hi,(didn't catch your name), I would REALLYYYYYYYYYYYYY like to take you up on your offer to help us out. Having someone on the ground local will be a Godsend to me on this. Setting something like this up from 6 hours away, while not impossible, can at times be a daunting task. Especially since I have never been to the track before. i will be there for certain. I already have the days claimed at work. As for the car.... it's probably ready or damn close. tranny is shifting like a swiss watch. How ever... the tow rig is not and the trailer needs tires and i am working on a solution to that. soooo... maybe on racing for me. if not i will be there anyway and if ya need anything, i can assist. you know, any orginization ... go between... help on cars... dispose of any excess beer supply....
Rob, NO WAY is my car gonna be there man. But yours is too close, so get on it !!! To hell with the trailer, go over and mooch Mikes open trailer. Cindy the "man killer" is a hired team driver now, and her car is "delivered" to the track for her now. And there will be plenty of watch dogs out for it. Your close too(well closer than me). I am setting up a group rate deal for us a motel close to the track. I am gonna need an approx. number of rooms we will be needing. As usual I will set up the reservations and all that. THIS JUST INNNNNNNNNNNNN, While calling making motel arrangements I found out something kinda cool. Well MAYBE kinda cool to some of us "older kids". It seems that come Monday of next week tickets go on sale for the Stones' that are gonna be there playing on Sunday. Might be of some interest to some of yall out there. BBQ in the pits on Friday, Race on Saturday, Rolling Stones concert on Sunday, Home and back to work TOTALLY whipped on Monday.................. Sounds like a weekend to me. As soon as I get a motel group rate secured I will return with info.
Still looking to make it down there, not to race, but to spectate and support the cause. Oh and to try to spend some quality time with one of my former cars, which presently resides in Wichita, unless it's still in restoration. o No: I'd better make that call to the owner soon.

Almost forgot.............. who out there are interested in event shirts ?? I AM doing them, no worries there. But I don't want to have a bunch left over and sitting around. If those of you that know you want them could give me a amount and sizes your looking for, it would really help me out. They will be your basic white with a logo of my design( :Brow: ) on the back, encircled by the sponsors that are helping cover the BBQ costs for us. For those that see this post and are watching, if your gonna pick up a shirt, lemme know your sizes and how many you'll prolly want. Would sure help me out in ordering. PS- I will have some of last years Great Plains Challenge left overs there for sale CHEAPPPPPPPP. No promises on sizes left though. First come first serve.

Dave, I need a room and a shirt size X-large. We would also like to caravan down there with the troop from Topeka if possible. So if any of you are listening... when are you heading that direction? We plan on being there to help set up the BBQ or just help. :grin:
