When I was selling parts on ebay a few yrs back I had an NOS temp guage sending unit for a 67 BB vette. Brought good money but the guy said that I had falsely advertised it because the lid on the box was tore!!!! He filed a complaint with ebay, I had pics or the item and the box and you could see the lid was torn some but did not think anything of it. Ebay sided with me as I was selling the unit and not the box. I refunded my money after he sent the part back because he paid with a money order(allowed back in the days of early ebay) blocked him as a buyer and resold it for abt 2x as much on a later listing. Didn't realize that the box made the sending unit work better (LOL) after that incident and a few other BS things on ebay I stopped selling. He did try to buy again on the later listing and asked why he was blocked--I never replied!!!
I frequently have various Delco / GM / AC boxes or the master tin can from a pack of ten; etc., etc. --- and I Can't throw them out --- it is against my religion!!!!!!! I save them for the right person --- some people set up their garage with a vintage theme --- or where I have some "Shell" and "Atlas" boxes -- and they have a "Garage theme".... There are prople out there that love that stuff!!!!!!! The only difference is I give them those boxes for F R E E ............
I have seen worse on ebay, like 10+ years ago, my sister-in-law's friends son put a fart in a ziplock, he had a description of what he ate the day before, picture of him filling the bag through his jeans and think he got 10 bucks for it, I couldn't believe it, let alone ebay didn't remove the ad Takes all kinds, hopefully it was sent as a gag gift Regards,
I've got a nice 70 gs grille box & 70 gs tail light box that I just couldn't get rid of. I think I'll display them in my garage.
A couple months back I bought several "NOS" dimmer switches that were pictured with the GM box with them. What I got was Chinese **** with no part number and a GM box with the part number removed. What a prick.
