Yeah Frank, that auto-meter 10K tach is insanely huge! Besides, who needs 10K on a BBB? Anyone need it? $50.00 an Ill pay for the shipping! ws
Thought you guys might find this interesting... ws https://www.hotrod.com/articles/1211sr-1005ci-godfather-big-block-engine/
Yo Nick... then theres this... these articles came from my pal in Dwight. Oretty impressive! ws https://www.hotrod.com/articles/freak-show-friday-1500hp-904ci-handmade-roadster-freakishness/
So I took the BADLASS out garage saleing today before the atom smasher got too high in the sky. Went back to the sale where I got the $3.00 Sun Tach and today everything was 75% off listed prices. Decent older jack stands were 45.00 and the guy took 10.00. Theyll get some additional welding just to be sure. The HEI (anyone care to decode it??)(8-6-1978?) is a BBC for $2.50! and a box full of other stuff for a total of 19.00. Anyone interested in the HEI PM me. Its been polished somewhat, but looks good... Trades considered. ws
That quote has not been attributed to Nostradamus. But maybe there's a new prophet out there who came up with this in Feb. or thereabouts.
Took Pat out for a root beer float at the Scarf-n-Barf (A&W) for some nice cold AC... these 65F nights are killing us here LOL. No hots rods to be seen but bunches of thumbs up, and even a few "Beautifuls' " ! ws
Summer of bummers! Not very many cruises or car events period! I have seen some with cars out but some friends haven’t even got their cars out! I was planning on driving my post car this Sunday to a little show but I have starter electrical problems !
Same here but things are starting to open up little by little around here. Drove the Buick to a cruise night 2 weeks ago in a neighboring town, then drove the El Camino to another one locally on Thursday.
Made it to the show with my buddies 66 gs he got best Buick! Only two Buicks there ! About 60 cars! Mostly Chevys! Little bit hot on the ashphalt today!
Cool City Classics was held tonight with about 527 vehicles in attendance, not including all the neon mustangs and excalibur kit car things... Not as weird as what they do in ALASKA! LOL Luke! ws
That's a great turnout for a cruise in these times, Bill. Nothing around here yet, zippo, nada. The wagon is cool, thanks for posting.
As our usual M.O., we park on the street just off the college parking lot for a few reasons... We sit in the shade and watch all the cars pull in, guys we know stop and BS waiting to get in, the lot is un-shaded so everyone roasts and the best part is now, the city "GRAFT department collects $10.00 for the lot and entry fee for the drive on FRIDAY night to getcha into town to park on main street and another 10.00 per car today for an entry for a dash plaque and trophy judging. I'll concede to that. We also leave just as they are mustering with all the cops and fire trucks to lead the run. WE get close to home for a potty break, then go back out to Memorial Drive and park in the shade to watch the procession. Its a tried and true method LOL. It was hot and muggy and the fire ball is in your eyes. We sit in the shade on the lakes edge with a cool breeze chillin' us! After the show today, Ill post a few hundred pics. I only took 54 last night LOL. Today we walk the whole show. The first in this series is a 1952 (?) Bel Air Chevy. Look at it for your own opines. Its a "C-GAS" which means a 90-100% engine set back. The driver actually had a glass windshield with a wiper ! I cant fathom how may hours went into this! The weirdest part? Its a 4 door and didnt sport any tags... right behind a cop pulling in; and I got the warning ticket last year for no hood!!?? Notice most of these guys have white hair?? ws
So for those that fear the walking dead with cooties, we did the Cool City Classic car show this year complete with a tornado siren. The motorcycle was home built from TWO Maytag gas engines. The 55 BelAire sports some nice new softray glass, the 50 Merc is live and on the air, and the rest? You guys figger them out... ws
That's nice stuff there, Bill! The "Twisted" car is very different. They are not all driving in, some of these things are trailered only?
I think that green Chevy gasser is a `51. I saw it a couple years ago at a show in Delavan WI. The tach caught my attention because it being the stars ands stripes cup I thought it would be a Dixco Don Garlits version. Nope, an imposter. He painted the cup, and he did a nice job on it. He said he wished he could find an original Garlits tach but hasn't had any luck. I probably shouldn't have said this but I told him I had one. He asked how much. Sorry, not for sale. But it was a pretty cool car that he had.
"Generally", the cars are all driven to and from. The green job had no tags, and if Bill saw it in Delavan, Id say trailered. It didnt make Saturday show in Two Rivers, 6 miles north. You really dont see any trailers parked on side streets around the start. One thing is for sure, social distancing was not the rule, and everyone was glad as hell to get outa Dodge. ME? Im always glad to get OUT OF a dodge LOL... PM'd ya today Bill. Just some musings haha... ws So here we go... Richie from Dwight, Il (XGS driver, Pat and the 2 boys, Boner (9) and Willy's Little Spike (4 mos) enjoying some TRDWSC time (Two Rivers Drive Way Smokers Club). Spike has a 3x champion sire and 2x dam lineage. Full of the dickens. 14.5 lbs and getting ready to send us to Mexico for "services rendered".
