OK OK... we have a bunch of dissenters here; Oh well...

Anybody good on GM part numbers, specifically dating?? Found this full unit at a garage sale for 50 cents. Immediately put 2 drops to use on the Imperial Eastman "IMP" mini tubing cutter right next to it for another .50 cents. The IMP was probably 1950 or so; its nickel plated and smooth as a LARK! ws

I see the oil listed in the GM 1950 Master catalog, Bill. It looks like they sold it up to maybe 1965 in that can, then changed. I always liked those Imps, because you can cut in tight spots with them.

So Pat and I share this weird number thing. It revolves around 11-11. She grabbed these on her way to Miller Mo. yesterday! I guess its time for the first oil change right??? ws

So whenever yer out garage saleing, and the pile says "free" ya just hafta look right? In the fall I am always shrink wrapping stuff. I have several 500K btu torches that always blow out when you squeeze the trigger. Buy a new one and rag, and they refund your money and you keep the torch; Gotta love the chinaman! So after my post graduate thesis on rocket propulsion, it dawned on me that there aint no regalater on the unit. Hose right into the tank at 200 psi. Hmmm. Throttle back the shutoff valve about 90% and get a nice clean burn.

So to make a short story long, on the "free" pile was a 4 burner Propane grill; now sans one regulator. "Werner , can you please comen into mein office? I neets you".
The other item was a home made air compressor. The compressor head didnt even groan when I turned it over so it was DOA. I had to run home for an adjustable and a pair of vise grips to get the rest. A nice Craftsman 1/2 HP 3450 rpm double shaft motor; ideal for a buffer or wire wheel. This makes #2 for me with a on-off toggle switch on the front. The air tank was a keeper... some old POS that probably aint worth anything haha... Its almost 80 years old and looks like new. Ever seen one? Its for sale. Numbers correlate to a B-17 or a B-25. GOV.CERTS tag removed. Capacity stenciling remains:cool:. Great for a gasser! ws

LOL Geoff! That and the ramps are a one days take. The ramps sell all day up here for 10.00 so it was worth climbing outa the truck and tossing them in the back. Actually, we "were" looking for some bigger property with room for a 60X80 Morton building.
The bills got in the way so we are now beginning a "3 year plan" to get out from under notes on vehicles and such. Once we are in the clear we will be able to meet our needs a bit better. A nice big barn with a wheelchair ramp for me haha... ws

Ya know Pat... what comes around goes around. I get lucky some times. A few weeks ago I was at an estate sale. The 70+ year old "kids" were liquidating the folks house. The gent actually helped his dad build the house. Its a Frank Lloyd Wright prairie style knock off. In the pile of stuff on one table was a digital camera. The "gent" says "Give me a dollar". I clicked it on and snapped a pic of Pat; it works. This is a little older model with two "AA" batteries.

I get the camera home and pull the SIM card and put in in mine. Theres pics from the early 2000s of a birthday party, a Hawaiian trip and a bunch of family stuff. True to MY fashion, the next day the sale is over and the sign is gone, EXCEPT for the realtors sign. I call them and explain the deal and they were good enough to forward the sellers info to me. The two "kids" live in Green Bay (50 miles) and the second is in Dallas Tx. I leave a voice mail and the daughter in law from Dallas calls me back. She asked me if I would drop the card in an envelope and mail it. I did one better and drove it to Green Bay and handed it to the son.

The card had about 100 pics on it. Several were the last known pics of the folks with "Dad" celebrating his "last" 95th birthday and several kids high school graduations. Many more of the folks last vacation together (60th anniversary!) trip to Hawaii. The "son" was in tears and offered me a reward.

"Are you serious??" Theres no way any amount of money would repay me for the look on the guys face! The last set of pictures from that dynasty.

So thats how I roll. My reward was to be labeled a racist for making a chinaman crack and now I am under scrutiny for any bad things I may say that will offend anybody, ever. I guess Ill hafta pull out the altar boy habit from when I was 8 y.o. I hope it still fits LOL. Might get one leg into it. Fat guys are gonna outlive the skinny ones. I always read stories of skinny guys jogging and keeling over at 36; Ill just watch TV and drink beer and laugh at the schmoes that think they can intimidate me with their "health".

The fat shall inherit the earth. Letters from William to Paul. ws

    True story Jim...ZERO embellishment.
