Doing some oil mods on the Block. Anybody have any idea what this oil hole is for in the rear main seal area? Center of picture. Maybe just drainage?

    alec296 i need another buick

I would think so, drain oil rather then oil pressure build up against the rear seal.

I don't know how it could be a drain hole being on topo_O
I wondered this too, why is it there

Could it be for a locator or retention tab for a seal?

So your oil coming out of the bearing doesn't blow past the rear seal. It was a rope after all.
