What is everyone using for a sending unit that has actual gauges? Not an idiot light. CARS says N/A.

I see one listed on TPP's catalog for $45, and they also list an elbow that they say I need. I currently have nothing in the block. Please advise. TIA

There are several sources for the sending unit. I've bought them from Ames Pontiac parts before. The elbow can be sourced at a hardware store. Don't quote me but I believe it a 1/4" NPT with a 45 degree angle in the fitting. Do a search on the forums, I know this issue has been discussed many times.

I’m running AutoMeter analog gauges and I’ve got a “T” fitting in the block. One side has the braided stainless line attached and the other has the sending unit for the idiot light. My logic is that I’ll see the light come on more quickly than seeing the needle drop on the gauge. It’s been working fine for over a year now and the analog side doesn’t seem to mind sharing the connection.

NAPA. I had to add an adapter thingy from Ace Hardware but it works like a charm.

I still have the original and wonder if there's a refurbishing source ....
