    Hey Rob -
It was a fair size yard with plenty of Buicks and lots of other makes in various stages of decay - most of them were well picked over.
A great way to blow away day ! Here's a pic of the 30 acre yard. :TU:

Randy, behind the grille, but part of the grille, what makes it partially look like it's blacked out is plastic. That's what I am mostly after which is the most important parts to me, not the grille itself. But I know I would have to buy the whole grille to get these parts. thanks again, tom T.

    Plastic Grill Screens

OK Tom - now I'm with yah ! :Dou:
Going by the photo, and the condition of the grill, I would say the screens were intact, but I did not check them out. I would not buy the whole grill to get them iether - way too expen$ive ! I have requested a price on the (Cat specific) plastic inserts, and will get back to you. :TU:

    GStage1 Always looking for parts!

Looks like he needs to trim the weeds in the yard. I guess a healthy diet of detroit iron makes them grow really really fast.

To me, looks like most of the cars (as you stated, well picked over) should be crushed. No use keeping them since many are severly rusted. Thanks for the great pics.

Had a similar yard here and the "old guy" would not do anything with his yard. Cars were so bad that you couldn't tell what they are and where they were located. I drove by his place about 1 yr after I was there and someone was cleaning out the entire place. Had a crusher on site and loading flatbeds w/crushed cars to be hauled to Tampa Rebar for melting.

The sad part George, while most were well picked, there was a lot of early and current stuff that still had good trim pieces intact - and it's a shame to think all that would disappear ounce they crush them. :ball:
With today's environmental regulations and concerns, it's just a matter of time before these old yards are lost and gone forever, and we lose a part of nostalgia ! :TU:

It's amazing how many of these cars appear to have little or no visible accident damage. Looks like the yard was the spot to drop off the old ride when the mechanicals died. What a shame.

Ok guys got some more info and prices:

Turns out the infamous right hand mirror (see pic) on the car is actually a FORD mirror and you can own it for $25 Canadian bones.
    - any takers ? :Dou:

Tom - you were right about the grill parts - they won't seperate them, and you can own the complete grill (2 halves with inserts) for a $100 Canadian each which would be a total of $200 Canadian, or approx. $160 US + removal + shipping ! :Do No:

I think the snow will cover them for another winter! :TU:

Yea Randy, the snow will probably cover them for more, then the cars will be crushed & there will be no $$$$$ forthcoming. The thing that scares me the most is + labor to remove. Thank you so very much for asking, I appreciate it. I have owned this "Cat" since '77. Went with my best friends mother to the Buick dealer in Ct. back in '67 to order it. It now has 22,000 miles on it. There were only 2 made like it according to Buick records from '68 via the FBI in '69 when the 2nd. was involved in a bank robbery in Texas. They came to the house to see if it may have been the one involved. Condition is pretty good, but I got it because it took a hit to the left front 3/4 & of course the grille is part of that. I got used parts then in '77 & it was hard to find a '68 then. Even 28 years ago the chrome on the used grille wasn't that great. Then at the body shop I had it at some @!#$%$# stole my wheels & tires & used the grille to jack it up with. been on the lookout since. Oh well, maybe someday before I pass.
    Again, Thanks, Tom Telesco

    Old Buicks

Just got the 'official' word today that they will start closing this yard down in September after 80 years of collecting! They figure it will take about 3 months, and they are going to attempt to salvage what good parts they can, and add it to their huge inventory to keep it from getting destroyed. :TU:

Glad we had a chance to share our tour of the yard while it was still open - sad to see another old yard disappear forever ! :ball:
