I used to use ultra black, but now I use the right stuff. It's more money but worth it. The easy cheese dispenser type is the best.

Any black is what I like, because " Ounce you try Black you never go back"!
the cheese dispenser is great if someone else is paying for it. You tend to use way to much, If you can find it the kind used with a caulking gun is more controlable. Carb cleaner and clean rag on all surfaces and your finger if you like to smear it around.

    Hi,

I use ultra black, think its the same as GMS we had at the dealership.

There is a few different kinds, the ultra black stays a little soft, they make a gray that is for permanent and drys solid which may or may not be good for your application.

    Regards,

I agree with you, but getting a caulking gun into an engine compartment isn't possible all the time.

I've had good luck with good ol blue, but never any issues with black or red either. Had some brown "gasket maker" stuff once (can't recall the brand) and it was a nightmare to work with. Very "stringy".

Nice looking engine by the way! (Even if it is the "wrong" brand....haha)

Spend the $$ on The Right Stuff. It is way better than blue silicone and somewhat better than Ultra Black. IMO
I used Right Stuff on Stage 2 small head stud that was spraying water at Norwalk (5yrs ago) and it still doesn't leak.

I love The Right Stuff, but, that stuff is tough to get off. I swear my intake was able to stay on and sealed with no bolts!
I use it when i have it.

right stuff works great on the intake inbetween the 2 heads. I never use the rubber thick piece, just 2 thick rows of black ontop each other.

I used the right stuff on my intake, in the corners of the rubber seals and by the valley gasket water ports.

    So far so good.
