Im a drug addict. I have tried and tried but I just cant give up sweet lady caffeine. Has anyone tried any of them new caffeine-laden mints or candy that have popped up near the check out counters? One brand has a penguin on it. I just wonder how they taste. -Matt
Im a Caffine addict too.....coffee being my main vice. ....then i had to go to Maui in Jan and sample perhaps the WORLD's Best coffee - Kona Coffee. How bad ?? Im having the stuff shipped to me these days.....but Im down to only 4-5 cups in the morning ...and perhaps a cup if i want to be productive in the evenings
I've tried em To maintain my usual hyper-active energy levels, I need about 6 cups of coffee a day. That's in addition to the Tea I drink with breakfast and the quart or two of Iced tea I usually have with lunch. No caffiene after 7M, that's the only rule. I've tried both the Penguin mints and Zingos by Brown & Haley. Hands down, the Penguins are better. They have more Caffiene, are smaller, and IMHO taste better. Zingos remind me of the taste of velamints, so if you liked those, you would probably like the taste of Zingos. Zingos are cheaper, but they are larger, so I think they end up costing near the same as the Penguins per mint in tins. By far my favorite are the cinnamon Penguins. IMO Zingos taste like ass :moonu: . I have a whole tin here that my girlfriend bought me. Are you trying to give up caffeine, or just coffee? I pretty much gave up drinking coffee becuse it was tearing up my stomach and parts further south. Now I am a Red Bull addict. Red Bull or Rockstar energy drink has plenty of caffeine and other stuff (vitamans and minerals). Really good kickstart in the am :Brow: and doesn't rot your insides as bad as coffee does. Kinda expensive but worth it. If you are trying to just quit caffeine, all I can say is good luck. I did it once for a couple of years and was a complete grouch for a few weeks while I was getting it out of my system. People didn't want to be in the same room as me (not a good thing when you deal with the public) and I felt like I needed a nap most of the time.
I am trying to get off soda pop. I cant stand coffee so I end up making it so weak that I dont get enough caffeine but plenty of sugar. But Im an easy 12 pack a day on some pop. Pop just makes me feel so sluggish and I think I spent too many years living off it. Drinking coffee and water makes me feel better but after a week or so I start slamming cans of soda and back too square 1. I can stop drinking soda pop but the caffeine brings me back. -Matt
Matt, Soda has to be one of the worst beverages in the world. It's basically a fizzy syrup. But we all drink it, don't we? Soda, so I've heard, weakens bones, and the digestive system. I've also heard that some highway maintenance crews use Coca Cola to remove blood stains from highways.... if it's true, Coke is definatley strong stuff. Try drinking juice. I'm trying to wien myself off of soda slowly, and when it comes time to order a drink, I ask for a fruit juice or something like Fruitopia. It helps. For me, at least. Soda is honestly, really horrible stuff. It might taste great... but if it can take blood stains off of highways, just imagine what it can do to your insides! If you want to transfer your caffine fix, just try black coffee for a couple of weeks. It's horrible at first, but you'll probably get used to it And hopefully won't drink as much. Good luck, Matt!

I don't know how drinking coffee made from seeds that came out of a cat's ass could be appealing, but to each their own, I guess. At $300 a pound, it better taste better than Zingos. - Freed
