I have mentioned this before, but I worked for a guy who celebrated his 19th birthday by flying a B-17 on a combat mission over Germany.
For those interested in military aviation I recommend the book "Fighter Pilot", memoirs of the legendary fighter pilot Robin Olds. Once I started reading it I couldn't put it down.
20 for father in-law as B-29 co-pilot on Tinian...was rule rather than exception, now it's the exception with many 20-somethings still children...observation, not a generational rant.
