Paint before or after sealing the seams

I'm getting ready to paint my 71' GS and since the body has been media blasted I need to seal the seams. Does anyone out there know if the seam sealer is applied first and then painted over it or paint first and then apply the sealer. I'm going for a factory type of appearance and it looks like when the car was put together the assemblers laid it on thick over the finished paint but I want to check with the board and get a consensus first.

    Thanks,
    Mark :TU:

Seams?? If you are describing the cowl seams, apply the seam sealer first and then paint over it. Sealer will never stick to a smooth paint finish.
