So years ago I found this pic Im not sure where I found it but Ive had it as my desktop background forever Im thinking it was taken by ?? at bowling green one year Just wanted to share with those who have never come across it and if anyone had the details of when where and whos cars they were
I don't remember the year, but it was the GSX reunion in Columbus Ohio at the BPG event. Awesome turnout of cars. I wish they still had the event. I wanna say it was about 7 or 8 years ago. I'm sure someone else will chime in.
I believe Joel Cheek (sp?) Put that pic together. Almost looks like something that should've been in the '71 Buick Sales Brochure. Only one (of one) missing is Verdimist Green.
August 2009 is when this was taken at the GSX reunion. I'm still kicking myself everyday!!! So glad I went with my car!! Troy
I was there at that time I owned the lime mist GSX wish I had never sold it ? It was my dream car I was dumb at the time ? Would like to find a 71 Stage 1 in my area for sale with A/C and pw,tilt ,ps possibly cruise in NC
Love the Lime 71 Xs. This one with the white interior is sharp. I saw the article a year or two ago in Muscle Review (?) that had two Lime 71s. I assume the one with the white interior in that article was Rays old car? The other one was sharp too. How many legit Lime 71 Xs are known?? IMO, the next best looking color on these is Silver. The one in the picture above really pops. I think the red accent stripes make this combo really work.
This was taken at the GSX Reunion in 2009. It was also in Muscle Car Review later that year when they covered the event. It had every color know at the time except for white. There was an unfinished white 1971 car at the event but it was not painted yet or we would have had them all. Also a Verdemist Green Car showed up that was unrestored. I think it may still be under restoration. That was a once in a lifetime event I think. We had the right people with the right contact at the right time. It was AWESOME ! ! ! Mark
All the times seeing that pic. & never even realized that white was missing! Duh. Not sure if the Verdemist Green car is being restored per se, but the orig. stripes are the best evidence of it being a GSX so I know it won't be painted unless or until the '71 microfiche surfaces.
What I like about that pic is that there are no white or yellow ones in it! Kinda refreshing..... I was second owner of the platinum mist beauty.....
The Limemist with white interior is Bob Christo's car, it was also in Hemmimgs Muscle Machine in 2016. The black is a one of one that Brad Conley owns. The Stratomist is Duane Heckman's car. Can't remember who owns the remaining.
What a great time! Let's do it again. MCR (Phil Kunz) took pictures, in addition to *many* people from the bleachers. From closest to furthest (I *think*...memory fades as I age)... Jeff F Don H Mike S Bob C Brad C Duane H Brian H An 11-11 one was present, but in primer. The idea was to get a picture with all offered colors...with Brad's 1 of 1 as well...and than the Verdemist showed up as well...
That was an incredible turnout - even the Motion GSX was there and Ken Lisk’s freshly restored chassis- way cool!
Here's some additional pictures form george's website http://www.buickperformanceclub.com/GSXReunion.htm And some pictures I have...
