MAN! I am an avid ex-smoker, but I always loved (and still love) the smell of fine cured tobacco. I have smelled cigars that have Cuban based tobacco seed that was grown in Florida; it has a distinct aroma that is simply missing from cigars of different origin. I can NOT imagine the aroma of a GENUINE Cuban cigar. PLEASE tell me that you have a GOOD quality humidor!
Also, I enjoyed some of the benefits of world travel in my 20 years in the US Navy, like getting GENUINE liquors from around the world. I wish that there was a way to emphasize the pronunciation.. I am talking "Lee- kore" not "Likk- er" ...
Drambuie, Amaretto DiSarrono, Ouzo, other fine "sippers" that you can get here in the states now, are slightly different (ahem) in their native countries. (I don't even think you can get "true" Ouzo anymore even in Greece. If you ever had it, you likely won't forget it. Or recall having had it, if you had too much, as was MY first brush with "true" Greek Ouzo back in 1978.
I envy you... You DID notice that the cigars are in multiples of 13, my families best number. Better share!!!

All the boxes I have are in multiples of 25. So 150 sticks all together :) And yes, I do have a decent humidor. It is built in and controls humidity and temperature. It "comfortably" holds approx 800 cigars :)

That should take at least half a year, to truly enjoy, in my opinion. I couldn't enjoy more than one per day. i'd have to savor one, take a break for at least a day, and then resume enjoyment, changing up in variety.

    Nice score!
Personally, I'm still into Havana Club Anejo for rum and cigars it used to be into H. Upman or Cohiba. We used to have a pipeline to Cuba and we could get as much of either as we wanted, a few Cubans supplanted their income selling these things up here. It got so that we were taking it all for granted. Those were the days...I don't know how many Cohibas I ended up giving away when I quit smoking, but it was probably about 100 or so and then I burnt the humidor in the fireplace. Wish I'd have sold them instead, but one thing we could never be totally sure of was whether they were real or not. There was a huge black market of sub-standard cigars going on back then, a guy could buy a box of wrapped Cohibas or Upmanns for $25 US. As I said, we lost count as to how many ended up here. But that was over 20 years ago now.
Now, twice a year, we get a couple of bottles of Havana Club for the coin show hospitality suite.

Death-Dealer-Poster-C10005831.jpeg My father only smoked cigars. Unfortunately, this habit invited a fatal visit from this gentleman at the ripe old age of 42. Cancer of the throat due to consumption of cigars was the final dx. Both of his parents lived to be over 100 year of age, but neither smoked.

I have been off tobacco for 30 years as of March 15. I have known people who have died of lung or throat cancer and I definately don't want either. I would not smoke another cigarette or cigar for $10,000.

I used to smoke cigarettes years ago. I was up to 2.5 packs a day. I do enjoy my cigars or maybe the ambience around enjoying a cigar is more the truth. The biggest difference between the cigarettes and the cigars is that I don't inhale the cigars. I did once and I was in the bushes for half an hour!!!!

Cigars are how I got started smoking again. I had quit for 10 years by that point, and then someone gave me a Cuban gagger. That was it; pretty soon I'm smoking those boxes and then progressed back to cigarettes. Took me another 10 years to fully quit, all because I knew what to expect. Finally did it 10 years ago, and haven't had a cigarette or a cigar since. I know if I did, that would be "it" again, and I'm not about to go through that again. And yes, I really, really enjoyed it, and would enjoy it again. That's how I know to stay the hell away from that stuff.
And yes, a real Cohiba is "inhalable", it's smooth enough.
Man, I'd sure love one about now...time to go have a drink! :D

Nice going Larry this is the first tobacco crave I have had since I quit cigarettes in 1968, I had an occasional cigar in the 70s but like Clinton I didn't inhale. :D
