http:// http:// I just bought my dream car to complete my collection. A 66 gs convertible. She's a verde green car with a split bench and column shift, 70,000 original miles and not a speck of rust in it. It has the window sticker from the dealer and all the paperwork. She hasn't been ran since the late 70's according to the last oil change. Can't wait to get it running.
Thanks. Yep bought her out of Oregon. She's a original Oregon car sold from George B Wallace buick in Portland in 1966. ---------- Post added at 11:41 AM ---------- Previous post was at 11:35 AM ---------- I hope to bring her to puyallup. Or my yellow special. Which ever one I get running first. The special hasn't been to the show in a couple of years. Motor problems:af:
Nice find. I'm a little jealous, even tho I have a 66 GS vert, mine doesn't really qualify as a "find" Nice to know there are still some gems out there stashed away
Definitely a needle in the hay stack find. I found her from a board member here that has had her for awhile. He found her from the original owners. She has just been stored next to all his other cool buicks.
Cool pic with the stock hub caps. :TU: Here's one with the top down. First time in 30 years I'm thinking. Hooked a battery to her and everything works. http://
Ran a buffer across the old paint and she shined up pretty good. Now that she's all detailed time to get her running. Need to find some 15 inch rallye's, change all the fluids, do the brakes, new radiator and heater core. Then time for cruzin this summer. http:// ---------- Post added at 09:30 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:25 PM ---------- http://
Very nice car. I'm about to upgrade my shop and I have pictured how I want to do it. What I envisioned is just like yours appears to be. What is the finish material on the surface. I planed to use house wrap, like Tyvek, but I can't find any without a name on it. Also, something tough. Tyvek is tough. The Lowes house brand, for example, I can rip with my fingers. Did you do a vapor barrier? Fiberglass between studs, vapor barrier on top of that then unbranded house wrap? Sorry for getting off track here. Nice Car!
No problem. The walls are 2x6 studs with osb on the outside with tyvek. Then its insulated with r-21 fiberglass and the white facing is called wmp. I got it from a local insulation company. It's suppose to be fire retardant too. Eventually I'm gonna sheet rock it. But that works pretty good in the mean time.
