You made some great progress! Let me know when you get back and I'll send the pics of the quarters. I took the pics yesterday. Good luck - our prayers are with you!

What have you got? I'm trying to get my 70 LeSabre 455 back on the road after 19 years in storage. Romy and I just shared the purchase of a car in Indiana. He took some, I took some. Can you tell me what parts you have?

    ***************

    Dan:

I may be interested in the quarter, but Romy has first call on it. Please let me know.

    Hi Calvin:

Hope you're making better progress than I am. I'm getting there, but not as fast as I'd like!

Isn't your car a convertible? I'm not sure that quarter panel will fit your car? It looks to me like there's a piece of metal behind the post in the picture that goes up to the roof - that would be for a hardtop/sedan. If the quarter is for a hardtop, you'd need to cut that piece off.

I hope offering this NOS quarter doesn't start some kinda mess. It is indeed a coupe quarter with C pillar. I've decided to use a half quarter on mine cause only the rear is smashed up and I really don't wanna trim the coupe quarter and make an eight foot long weld. Plus, I hafta get into the Regal and need the $$$$. Sooooo, its like this. Romy Emailed me to inquire if this was the quarter I had told him he could have. You big car guys rule...but NOS quarters arent free. I promised Romy a pass side quarter for free thats fairly solid and I confirmed he's still getting it. I have a pal that frequents here from IL, and getting that to him should be a snap, if not a little time delayed. But he did say something about wanting the NOS one. I suppose I'd feel a little better if I here from him again soon, but I need to move this cause of a possible deal coming this week that will greatly aid my Regal on the road to Big Blockness. Looks like Paul inquired next, then Calvin. But lets try to see if Romy checks in soon first cause I did offer it to him first since I saw him working on a 70 coupe.

Romy, LMK ASAP cause I need some $$$$$

Paul, your up if he don't want it

    Calvin. We'll see what happens.

im redoing a conv. and wouldn't want to destroy a full quarter unless i had no choice, so whatsup with the quarter exstention are you gonna use them can you post some pics also you wouldnt happen to have corning lights for the 70 Wildcat or Lesabre i think an Electra would work also

    Dan:

Not to worry - Romy, Calvin and I all play nice together in the sandbox. We're all friends and are working on the same year cars. Actually, Calvin had a car that Romy and I "shared" a few monhths ago.

I believe that Romy is on a short mission for the Army, so you won't hear from him for a little while. But, he's real good about contacting the board when he gets back. I have no problem waiting to hear from him.

    Calvin:

I will keep my eyes open for a quarter for your vert. Someone has one, somewhere.

    lesabre 4 sale

I just joined this site, have a car for sale. I haven't looked for a "for sale" section, just did a search on my car and found you all here. Anyway, here's the scoop. I have a 2 door hdtp 70 lesabre 455 for sale. I've owned it about 5 yrs w/hopes of fixing it up right. well now I have a house and more important things to suck up my time and money. The car sat garaged until I bought it. Here's the beauty part. The car only has 30,000 ORIGINAL miles. And NO it's NOT 130,00. All I've accomplished was R&Ring the shocks. The ones I removed had the spiral indentation that the factory shocks had. the doors open and close like new. NO wind noise at 105 mph. Interior is almost mint. It DOES have some rust, and bias ply tires. The car had under 30,000 when I got it, but I've driven it some. THen the trans (t-400) started to slip kinda. It's slip until you gave it some gas, then pow! Something would engage and it wouldn't slip at all, and work fine until you stopped again. Then the same thing over again. Well I pulled it and had a retired GM dealership "trans guy" rebuild it w/a slight shift kit. The trans has TOPS 800 miles since. the car is white w/a tanish gold interior. I have some pics of it here-
    http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/ralpheebaby/album?.dir=/f603&urlhint=actn,ren:s,1:f,0
Everything on this car is original. It has power brakes and steering. It has speed control and works, the clock doesn't. It took awhile before I realized what that buzzing sound was at certain speeds, but I figured it out. LOL
It does have some rust, but it's repairable. The back window has a leak at the bottom pass. side. The engine runs like a dream! It's amazing the power it has being all stock! The Q-jet works awesome too. The car also has A.C., although I've never tried to charge it, or even checked for leaks. Well to make this a little shorter, here's the info-1,750 is what I'm looking for. It may be worth more, or less I'm not sure. What I do know is that's what I'll take for it or close because of what I have into it. Have any questions comments criticisms or otherwise, post here or give me a ring- 734 915 2201 or 734 586 3904 I live just north of Monroe Michigan near I-75 and I-275. I kind of hate to sell it, but that's life I guess. Thanks for looking. Ralph

    Go Buick Go Woot!

Ok....wow, I guess I missed a lot in the past week.

Well, I'm not on an army thing right now (for once) but I am out of the country. I'm in Prague in the Czech republic taking a language course. Anyhow, over the past week I was in Sardegna (an island of Italy) backpacking...lot's of fun! I could maybe post a few pics if you'd guys want...as soon as I find out whether or not getting my digital camera wet killed it or not, but that's another story.

Anyhow, I pm'd Dan about the quarters, but I don't know if he still has it or what happened in the past week. I told him I'd want it, if he still has it.

    ----
Calvin - You say you need quarter extentions? These are the little things that bolt on at the end of the quarters above the bumper right? If so, the ones on my 4 door are in decent shape, if you'd want those. Although I won't be back til mid-august

    ----
bews3- I may need some parts...like the p/s fender and maybe the d/s depending on Calvin. I talked to him about trading part of a floor for a d/s so we'll see about that. But again, I won't be back til mid august.

Ok, I'm about out of time, but I'll be online again soon, so I'll check back and see what's going on here.

    Go Buick Go Woot!

Ok, I'll update this a bit..

I got back from CZ friday evening and started on the car Saturday morning. It rained here, so I decided to do start with stuff that didn't involve crawling on the ground, so I pulled the dash, cleaned up some stuff, and installed the head unit for my stereo system. :Brow: No speakers yet :Do No: , or anything else, but it won't be hard to do now, so I'm glad that's done.

Just a few minutes ago I jacked up the back and got ready to continue the trunk fun. I have only one more area of the trunk to repair, and then it's onto the quarters. Then fenders...which brings me to the next thing...

bews: do you have both d/s and p/s fenders? Both of mine have rust on the bottoms...the d/s isn't even attached right now on the bottom because there's no metal there to bolt it on! Let me know when you can.

Welcome back Romy. Are you here for awhile? Lets talk quarter panels.

    Dan,
Damn, that's a crazy looking avatar! Yes...quarter panels indeed. I'll pm you to make it easier.

    trunk is done

Ok, the trunk is done as well as some misc. interior stuff. I Por-15'd the new metal and generally everywhere it was needed. That was a pain in the ass. Especially the underside. :moonu:

Now it's on to the quarters. I'm going to start on the passenger side first. And do the giant hole in front of the wheel before I fix the monster dent behind the wheel that was covered in bondo.

I've started looking into dynamat or something similar...I swear there was an article in Car Craft about a spray on sound/heat insulator, but I can't find anything now...pissing me off. Anyone know anything...I think I'll post something about that in one of the forums...or do a search I suppose...

    anyhow...
Dan, did you get my pm?

    Romy,

I thought I replied???? Maybe I forgot.....I dunno. Anyway, its unlikely Mark will be comuting anytime soon. He just moved into a new house about a half mile from his old one. He put all his time and $$$ into moving, so he'll be stationary for awhile. I really don't know what to do right now. The shorter four door quarter can fit with Mark when he makes the round trip again, even if its awhile from now. But that 7 1/2 foot NOS one sounds like a shipping nightmare. I dunno how to handle that.

    Welcome back!

    Hey Romy:

Welcome back home. Nice to see you on the board again.

I'm making some progress on my LeSabre and am still trying to get it on the road before the snow flys. I just want to drive it (after 19 years), then I'll put it back in the garage until Spring.

I'm assuming that you still want that quarter panel from Dan?
