Due to a surplus of vehicles being parked at my house I was forced to park my pickup in the side yard under a couple large pines for a few weeks. I pulled it out today and there is a bunch of sap on it that is really stuck on there. I tried all my usual products to get it off but there are still a couple stubborn spots i can't get removed. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get this sap off?

Isopropyl alcohol works wonders. Used it when I worked as a tree trimmer

If the truck has a good clear coat paint brake clean might harm it I have on an older paint used fast orange hand cleaner it turned a grey car white again. I then had to use compound and polish to get a good shine but it worked. Might be able to get a gallon of WD and use that I never even thought it might take sap off. I too tried all the removers sold at the parts store with poor results

WHOW!! CMON MAN! Pine Tar comes from a pine tree. hello? (WATER) use Murphy's oil soap. Have you guys ever tried to wipe coffee/ w/ cream and Sugar. OFF with lacquer thinner (SOLVENT) on a hood or fender of car! Won't come off. But wipe it off w/ water on a rag. get the picture. Try leaving wet towel w/ Murphy's on spot (lay it on) for 10 min.

Super Glued my fingers together ( Industrial strength ) and layer my hand on Car Bumper urethane type. Could not pull off w/ out leaving all my skin on bumper. My wife poured Murphy's oil soap on my hand w/ little water ! hand came off eventually

She did take pictures first, right? Murphy's works great. I used it to clean vinyl and leather interiors.

I mow under pine trees every week and have to desap my hair, arms, clothes, and shiny John Deere tractor. I have tried many things with varying degrees of success. I use straight methanol ( as in racing alcohol) for everything the sap gets on. It will burn in any cut you have but does no damage, and leaves no residue on anything.

I just bought some epoxy to bond some small parts. They recommend using salad oil and gently rolling the skin around until you get separation. Never would have thought of that. Guess I won't be using epoxy to glue any salad bowls together.

BOT, other recommendations seem in line. Fast orange has grit in it, right?

unfortunately the trees are my neighbors, they are huge so the branches extend over my yard other wise the saw would have come out years ago

You need to get that stuff off Pronto as it will get under the clear coat and lift it permanently ...

... buddy buys a new car and I come over to take a look. Notice he's parked under a,pine tree and yell him he better find another parking spot. Yeah yeah .. 2 weeks later he calls and is freaking out about the spot that won't come off

Whaaa??? No one's ever used peanut butter??? Dab a small glob on the pitch, let it sit so the oils can dissolve, rub in lightly.

    Pitch be Gone!

Check local ordinances. Most jurisdictions allow limbs that overhang your property to be trimmed back to the property line.
