Alright men , & ladies. I bought a 1970 Skylark from the second owner for "parts" for my 72 Stage 1 convt. Mostly the sheetmetal. Rear wheelhouses etc. etc. The paint code is NN-1. Burgundy Mist (re. purple). Anyway, 84,000 original ,miles. A/C on the column with 350/2. It still has the compass on the dash for goodness sake!! Anyway, too nice to cut up. I put 3 K miles on it last year. Perfect white interior, and I do mean perfect. Sloan museum validated. I have about 6 Skylarks, mostly GS's. My previously mentioned 1972 Stage 1 convt. is my latest love, other than my girlfriend.Factory 4-speed, N-25 with A/C. One of 16 I am told from a very credible/knowledgable source. I FINALLY got my rear wheelhouses for the car. It only took about 24 months(?). Anyway, I will try to bring the "Purple" Skylark to the Nationals, along with my Stage 1 convt. How many people have seen or remembered a"Purple" 1970 Skylark, FACTORY paint? I have been a car nut for a long time and I don't remember seeing a GM of this color. I have to inquire, Are there any N-25 bumpers available??? Just a thought/wish. I hope to see most of you at the Nationals, in my rearview mirror!!! Thanks, Upstaged in Mi. P.S. If you can read this , thank a teacher . Since it is in English, thank a soldier.. RGG
I've owned this Burgundy Mist 70 GS for 21 years. People have called it "purple" occasionally throughout that time. When paint job #3 was really faded after years in storage, it did look rather purple.
