All my window motors work, but two need to be "rolled" down from the individual switches, so I need a 69 Riviera (4 square) driver's door window switch, where all four switches work. Anyone?
'68 is the same, and will work too Frank. Are you sure it's the switch, and not a wiring issue in the harness that feeds the master switch in the driver's door ? o No:
It has been (and still is) in the shop... since I got it...but it could be as easy as bad contacts in the switch too. I should have it back next week. We were trying to see if we could resurrect the R12 AC, but it looks like an overhaul and a conversion is the way to go.
The power window wiring harness inside the rubber conduit sleeve on the driver's door on a 40 year old car gets brittle with age, and the wires can actually fracture from the constant opening and closing of the driver's door. This can result in certain windows not operating from the master switch, but they will function properly from the individual power window switches. Just something else to check Frank. :TU:
Frank, Please show the pin arrangement. I have an NOS switch you may be interested in if it is correct for your application. Jim
Yep, My 68 did just that and I found many of the wires inside the conduit between the door and body cracked and some completely broken. Fixed them and all is well.
I know this is an old post and probably a long shot but Jim do you still have that master switch for sale??
I have reproductions in stock from Lectric Limited if you end up going that route...... My price on the 69/70 version is $60
Yes I do. This is a NOS four button square switch for the long armrest. The reproduction rectangular switch I see shown on the Lectric Limited website is for the door panel. Please let me know if this is the switch you are looking for. It would be helpful to confirm the pin arrangement. Thanks. Jim Vesely BCA # 39477 ROA # 7437
I also have some switches ,some are plastic, most likely from Regals and so on.,some are metal.Don't remember where they came from, but a picture is worth a 1000 words.Bruno.
