Yesterday (sunday 12/22/02) My wife lost her Great Grandmother. I would just like for everyone to pray for My Wife and her family to help them get through the loss.

    Thanks

  2. Our prayers are with you and your wife's family, Phil. I understand how difficult times like this can be.

Please say a little prayer for my wife and her family too, as her mother is in the last stages of pancreatic cancer. Yesterday, we were told she likely has only 3-4 weeks to live, after battling this for a little over a year.

Guys, you're all on my list. Hope you all make it through the holidays in tact and with your mental well being and I hope everything turns out to be as painless as it can possibly be for those who are on Heaven's door step. Certainly a better place to be.

    God Bless

    difficult times

Many times like this I find it difficult to find words to comfort someone who has lost a loved one;but there is a verse in the Bible that gives me great comfort. Psalm116:15) Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints. as difficult as it is to lose a loved one;if they know the Lord they are much better off in that city whose builder and maker is God. We will pray for you and your families.

    Phil and David,

We will keep your familes in our prayers. I pray that God will comfort, and bless you and yours during these times.

I just lost my Dad 6 months ago and I can tell you without any doubt in my mind that through trust and faith in God his children can weather all storms.

You know Satan rules over the world.
This is where God sent him when Satan was a fallen angel.
Satan will continue to be over the world until the day that God and Jesus return.

In my opionion because of that , many times things happen that just don't seem right.
Other times God does intervene and performs feats that Doctors can only call miracles.

The verse that came to me was Proverbs Chapter 3 verses 5 and 6. "Trust in the Lord with all thine heart:and lean not unto thine own understanding.
In all thy ways acknowledge him,and he shall direct thy paths.

    Phil and David,

You can be certain that your families are being prayed for!! I really pray that the Lord will provide comfort in this most difficult of times!

That's an especially tough one too, considering the time of year....:(

As John stated above, trusting in the Lord, not only as your Personal Savior, but in every detail - will help you to get thru this!! All we can do, is pray for His Grace for each day - to get us thru it.

I lost my mom's mother 4 years ago, at Thanksgiving time - that was especially tough!! My grandmother and my mom had a really good relationship, so it was quite tough on my mom...not only losing her mother, but losing someone so close, that's always been there to talk to....:(

I also lost my dad's father, back in '90 - at Easter time. We always knew he would go 'with his work boots on'...and he did! He wouldn't have had it any other way!:TU: He was 'old school' all the way - he was a good role model, not only for his work ethic, but for what he believed in!! His favorite saying from the Bible was "...let the Redeemed of the Lord, say so" - can't remember what passage that was from. But, I certainly remember what it said! That's part of the reason this forum means so much to me- gives me (and all of you) an outlet to share and talk about Jesus and what he can do for us.

Whether it's thru His Healing touch, His Comforting us, or a host of other things...it's nice to know that He cares for us! Enough to send His only Son down to earth...in the form of a baby...in a manger......I think you know the Story!!:TU:

If God cares enough about us to do that - He will surely be there for us in our time of need!!

I hope each one of us, will keep everyone on this board in their prayers!! Especially, those that have asked for it!!

**David - Do you know the status of your mother-in-law's relationship with with the Lord? If in fact He has chosen this, as 'her time'...is she ready to meet Him? I hope and pray that she has or will, accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior! There is no greater Joy, than knowing that someone you care about, will be in the presence of the Lord! No more pain...no more sorrow....:TU:

That doesn't mean that it won't still be very difficult on those that remain, that cared so much for here. But it sure makes a difference, knowing beyond a shadow of a doubt, where she will be!!

  11. Scott, she's a very devout Catholic, and was very involved in church affairs until she simply couldn't physically continue to be. I truly believe she has moved thru to the acceptance stage of it all, and has made peace with God. I KNOW she went thru a period when she was mad at the world, and God, for doing this to her, but that is a normal part of the whole process. All of her far-flung children have been able to come home to visit during these past several months, even from New Zealand, where her oldest daughter lives. They are a pretty close-knit family, and I know we will all find the way thru this tragedy.

Thank you all for your kind words.
