Hi Folks This morning, Brandon Smith, who is the son of Board member Cole Smith, and my long time girlfriend Beth Smith, went into Cardiac Arrest. Fortunately he was undergoing a sleep study at a local Sleep clinic for Sleep Apena and was on the center's monitors. They saw it happen right away, his heart simply just stopped about 5:30 am. They started CPR immediately, and it continued for over an hour via machine while he was transported to the University of MN Hospital via ambulance. He currently is in a coma, and is on full life support, and his body is being chilled to 93.5* to hopefully preserve brain function. They will warm him up in 24 hours and that is a critical time, according to the cardiologist we spoke to this morning. His prognosis is poor, but because he is only 34, we are hopeful for a complete recovery. Keep him in your prayers. Thanks JW
Hoping for the best outcome for Brandon...very scary. Sounds like he’s had a rough go health-wise the last couple years.
