Giving thanks for the technicians and quick actions, thanks to first responders, thanks to doctors, and prayers for Brandon.
Thanks everyone, your support... it means more than you know. The latest update is that he was removed from the bypass machine, and his femoral arteries repaired where they accessed for the hookup yesterday. He is on his own and stable as of last night, with good blood pressure and heart function. The bad news is that they performed another CT scan, and noticed swelling of his brain now, and no brain activity. Today marks 72 hours since he was warmed back up on Saturday afternoon, and it is a benchmark number given by his doctors where we should start seeing some improvement, and they expect him to regain consciousness any time from here on out. That's really the next thing here, he simply has to wake up, so his cognitive ability can be tested. We have been told that may not happen until the swelling of his brain subsides. His family is gathered by his bedside daily, hoping he comes back to us. Thanks again JW
Beth, Jim and family, our deepest sympathy and prayers from TA Performance go out to you all. I'm so sorry. Sincerely, Mike Tomaszewski
Final update: We lost Brandon a few hours ago. Yesterday evening we received the devastating news that he has no brain activity and no hope of it returning. Further testing confirmed that he met the criteria for Brain Death. We discussed organ donation last night, but because of his medical history, it was unlikely that he could donate... and then decided to let it all sit for the evening and to sleep on it. This morning, his mother and Grandmother met with the doctors again, and reviewed their results and had their final questions answered. He was removed from life support, and passed shortly thereafter. I want to thank all of you that have called, emailed and messaged your support over the last few days. I am working in the shop, as it seems to be the best thing for me right now... but I trust everyone will understand that ongoing projects will be slightly delayed until we get him laid to rest. God Speed Brandon, rest in peace. JW
Jim, family and friends. I am sorry for your anguish in all of this. May the pain diminish and the good memories be strengthened. Michael
Sorry to hear this update. Our prayers continue Jim for you and Beth along with family. Please let us know if you need anything. John and Jenn
