    :(

Don't want o sound like I'm dropping all my worries on everyone, but prayers help.

I've been out of work since Sept of last year, since I was paid well at my former job, ( thanks Ford) my unemployment has been helping us survive. I have been religus looking for one ever since.

Well my wife recently took ill , a deep bout with the flu, and upper respitory problems, and bronchitus, this has held her down since the week of New Years, she will hopefully return this week.(not out of the woods yet)

Then our mini van's fuel pump went, and the 3 tires are bad, my unemployment runs out at the end of this month, and with her out of the job due to her illness, I wanted prayers for us to recover from the bills, they hit us hard this month , my wife to recover fully, and also that my problem with my Regal is easily fixed.
I'm trying to get my Regal back up and running cheaply so we can have at least 2 cars again( at this time my van will be too expensive to fix )and we have a cheap $300 Sable Wagon that keeps running and running, she can use it go to work and I can still search for a job in the Regal.

I know it is said that God never gives you more than you can handle, ( my dad is a minister) but I feel it is a power struggle with me in the middle between him and Satan.
I recently took positon at my church as a volunteer youth leader , and took inventory on myself, well what I saw wasn't nice and those kids have help me see it and started the change, I havent been this involved in the church this much my whole entire life , even as kid when dad was preaching.
So I think ole Satan got hurt loosing me to Christ , so he figure hey...why not make it very hard maybe , I will give up.... type thing.

I do have light at the end of the tunnel I did get a call from our local school to be a subistute teacher, ( for mostly the same kids in our church).
Maybe this is a new calling for me, and my family.. just pray for our struggles and our hopes of not going under and loosing a lot and our finances improve with me finding a decent job.

again thanks for the ear and your prayers
    God Bless:TU:

    GSXMEN Got Jesus?

Chris - I will certainly add you & your family to my prayers! I honestly believe, that the Lord will provide all your needs...it may be 'just in time' - He often works that way!!

Sounds to me, like you've made it on the 'radar screen' of the enemy!! That should give you 'the warm fuzzies' (that will sound strange to some)!! That just means that you're making a difference in those kids lives!! Now Satan has one more person to worry about!!:TU:

Keep up the Good Work!!! It's VERY exciting to hear from someone on the board that is really trying to make a difference for the Lord - especially with kids!!! That's where it's all at!!!

Anytime you can reach a kid before they graduate, you have a very high probability of them getting saved! After that time frame - the numbers go down dramatically!!

Two of my cousins are Youth Pastors and my uncle has been a Pastor for something like 40 years! They have a real passion for reaching teens (and younger). Glad to hear that you do too!!:TU:

Don't be afraid or worse, embarrassed to mention your prayer requests - that's exactly why this particular forum is here!!! In fact, I would encourage you to post your mailing address here. The Lord may 'encourage' someone on this board to send you their tithe money or some other form of monetary help! Or, He may choose a different route...regardless, I know He will be there for you and your family in this time of need!!!

    Scott

I also come from a family full of ministers, literaly!!!

As I said, My Dad is one of them, I have the rest on my Mom's side of the family.
She has 2 sisters who have married ministers, and one brother who is a minister, each of those families have at least 2 kids that our ministers, one of my Aunts who married a minster had 5 kids and all of them are associated in the ministry some how 1 is a minister.
I have 3 more cousins that are ministers, and their wives are involved in the youth ministry.
And 1 cousin who is a Funeral home director ..in his Late twenties.

So you can see how our family get togethers go!!

Yes thanks for the prayers, their are welcomed and charished...
I havent lost hope..... just on the inventory check I lost faith.. thank the Lord for my Wife, and my 4 kids to keep my head above water and keep pusshing me.
As I stated over in the other post my 2 daughters are Baptized and and both my sons, both the youngest daughter and my youngest son were baptized recently on the same day, my son chose my dad to baptize him, he's always looked up to him,
My daughter chose her Volunteer Youth leader to do so, since they were and have been very close spirtually.

Like I said these kids I'm working with are helping me more than they realize hopefully I give back somemore to them to help them along.

Way before and along with the recent descion of being a youth leader, I have seem to aquired a new extended family, all mainly boys that hang out at our house, espeically when I've been wrenching on the Regal, sharing stories of building cool cars and such.
In our men's meeting I asked what they thought of some form of a sanctioned(sp?) place where I and others can reached troubled or not comfortable with the norm youth, through wrenching on cars.
Something like "Faith Restorations Garage"... not a home , but a place where they can hang out work on their own rides, with spiritual guidiance of course, and approach them differently in their walk with Christ so not to upset them...
So far the response has been "yes go fo it"... but the church hasn't backed me up on it as a group....
I'm no means a "good Mechanic" I just know what I know and want to share my knowledge, and my faith with those kids.
Its going to be for them.... and not a Repair facilty for the public, all tho maybe do some kinda of money raising drives from there to support it.
Dont know....just pray something happens or presents it's self to me.

Scott I'm in the local directory for address and phone # here in Cambridge City. IN... so if anyone wants to help or even drop an line to say we are praying for you I do appreciate it.
    Again thanks for this forum
And thanks for letting me rant rave and share .. I've been wanting to share ...the growth of our Youth in our area and the struggles I'm encountering at the same time to say GOD and Satan are REAL and my Family and I are here to prove it.
    Again GOD BLESS
and thanks to all for your Prayers

  4. Greg Schmelzer

Greg Schmelzer What are you looking at?!

    Here's an idea

Chris, what size tires do you need for the van? I have a set of 4 P195/60-R15 Cooper Cobras in my shed that are only getting in the way.

If you need them and we can figure a way to "relay" them from Omaha to Cambridge City, I will get them dismounted from the rims and get them to you. They only have about 12K miles on them. They are rated as 60K mile tires, so there is a lot of miles left in them.

Let me know and we'll post a new thread on the Bench and see if we can arrange transportation.

I was gonna sell them, but sounds like you could use a break more than I can use the money.

PM me or post your reply here. I get my Buick fix daily, so I'll be sure to get the message.

    Greg

    Bless you man.....!!!

:( But unfortunatly they are 215/70/14's that I need...
we are going to concentrate on getting either the Regal going or the van going first.....the tires will have to wait....really I could run on the other 2 , 1 is showing cord and peeling.

The van was well taken care of, I serviced it alot and got the records , at the Ford dealership I use to work at, I knew the tires weren't in the best of shape, since I recomended at least 3 times to replace them....well they stilll looked go when she traded the Van in(109k) and I thought well this winter ( figuring I would still be working there) I would get new ones, but with the amount of time and travels and the milage quickly added up with a family of 6 and it took the tolls on the tires. , besides they were the orginal tires:eek2:

I am going to post some questions in the Bench regarding the van maybe someone can help solve the delima

    Again thanks.....
    God Bless

    Chris,

I am reading this post for the first time today, all I can say is trust in Him. Remember Job, "...though You slay me, I will trust You..."

GSXMEN said it best, satan ignores those that he does not have to worry about to concentrate on those doing God's work.

    Thanks Guys..for the prayers..

and others who had us in their thoughts.
    Prayers DO WORK....

    Good News
I have 2 part time jobs that equal a full time job.. I think....

I was offered and took a part time job as an auto detailer at a Rod and Custom shop right here in town minutes from my house.

When the detailing is slow or no cars to be done, and I know ahead of time ,(I'm now offcially a subsistute teacher) I can sub at the school, the cool thing is this owner is a night owl he comes in around 9:30 or 10:am (when the shop opens) and works late, thus if I sub at school, I can go home change and go work at the shop.

Strangely enough I'm in my element.....

Still keep praying ...we as a family have to pull out of the rut we dug ourselves into when I was unemployed.

We still have struggles in other areas, so prayers are needed.

    Praise God
    again thanks

Kerry s. Is Jesus YOUR Lord?

    Hi Guys,

Chris.....I'll be sure and add you and your family to my prayers. Just remember James 5:16.....

Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
