I’m playing with the ride height to get the stance figured out. I initially had it jacked up for header clearance, but switched back to manifolds. At the rear, it sits at 25.5” from the wheel well mounding to the ground, measuring at the center point of the rim. The front is about 24.5” each side, but the left coilover is frozen and needs to be worked. I’d like to go a half inch lower all the way around, depending on where others have their ride heights set.
Louie, I am right around 25.5 all the way around on mine. I have a taller front tire and it kind of hides the tire a little more. I'm also limited due to the headers and exhaust.
I should be, just haven't worked out lately. Is one thing after the other. But come next Monday I will take a cruise, I'm taking the day off.
Really interesting build!! Funny how plans change so much from the start of a build to the finish!! Congrats on what you've accomplished though, is a sharp looking car. BUT... we have to get you educated on what good beer is!! Next time you're around the Wisconsin area we'll fix you up! Josh

Sorry to bash your taste, here in the badger state, we take our drinking pretty seriously! Have fun with the car, I have 2, one that is a VERY original Skylark that has a tired 455 in it (But it's fun to mess with people with!) and the other, that is the same color, that will become my P/T car. I've already installed Global West upper and lowers in the back. I have Detroit speed for the front, but haven't got around to installing them yet... Still deciding on brake setup. I'm also looking into installing a Speedtech frame brace kit, kinda pricy though!! It's a tough job balancing $ with kids in activities!! Nothing these days is cheap! Man I feel you about the " lite" beer I was the 1st talking **** about light beer etc. I AM GERMAN so beer is basicly breast milk to me. But since I have been a new member of the Diabetic club since 6 month I became a Light beer person ... do I like or prefer it...probably not. . BUT MUCH BETTER THAN NO BEER
True that! Sucks about the diabetes, I'd have a hell of a time if i had to give up my brandy old fashions!! As for beer, I'm German too, so, the darker, the better!! Nice Job with your build too, I was reading yours the other night. Josh

Unfortunately, no. I'm 3rd generation American. All of my great-grandparents moved here in the early 1900's. Their stories were fun to listen to. It was particularly fun to listen about cars, and electricity, and how scarce both of them were when they were children! Wheat beer is good, I'm not a fan of the IPA's that seem to be the rage these days. Give me a stout and I'll be happy! Left Hand brewing has a Milk stout that is pretty good, and like 15% alcohol by volume, so 2-3 is about my limit!
How did I miss all of this?! Josh- you won’t catch me drinking a stout. I’ll gladly drink an IPA any day. Odin and I will drink a 30 pack of mich ultra while you enjoy a few stouts. I’m sure it will be the same alcohol equivalent. I got insurance on the car and ordered a bunch of LEDs. I’m going to at home align it tonight and take it for a ride. Also resumed work on the soon to be stage 2 hood, and started prepping sport mirrors to paint.
First ride is in the books! I tried driving it a few weeks ago. With the new suspension set up, the alignment was way off and I didn’t feel comfortable going any further (made it to my next door neighbors house before slamming it in reverse).. Bought a ball of string and used two 5 gallon buckets to get the alignment as close as possible. I doubt I went over 20, but it drove dead straight and shifted into second. The brakes felt spongey. I think I need to adjust the prop valve to have the fronts catch quicker. I couldn’t be happier with the result so far. Took my last corner a little swift and it definitely doesn’t ride like a 1970 Buick. I’m excited.
Car has a few more miles on it. I had limited travel in the brake pedal.. realized the Baer master comes with a “bullet” extender needed for GM/Ford cars. The master is probably only being engaged with half pressure or less. The kits come with a bullet, but in my move it got lost. A new one arrives Tuesday. I also went to hook my sending unit up but it’s toast so I bought a new gas tank. Some random progress pictures: Stage 2 hood has been fitted and cut, sport mirrors have been painted base coat, need to clear today. My LED and H4 headlight conversion is complete sans the license plate light and interior dome light. I followed the threads in the Sparkys corner section of the board.
Bad sending unit snowballed into buying a new tank. FedEx was supposed to deliver the tank today, but only the sending unit showed. I did find the build sheet. The gas was at least 10 years old. I’m surprised it ran and drove. Hopefully I can get the new tank in tomorrow with some fresh gas.
Bad night last night- FedEx dropped my gas tank off. The packaging looked fine, but i had a bad feeling. They managed to break the filler neck off at the soldering point. Rather than trying to fix it, I’ll be sending it back. The bad news- rockauto won’t ship a replacement until they have tracking on the one I’m sending back. Hoping it gets processed today and I can get it early next week. I did spray the splatter paint in the trunk and clean up on the underside of the pan. Turning my attention back to the hood.
ahhh - El Fp, got it. I’ll end up going with one of those expensive tanks units or something similar. The budget is tight right now. Question for you- building an LS and 455? Is your car going to be running on 16 cylinders?
