Posted this over on Moparts so if you see it twice:moonu:
I'm a very humble person by nature and am not one to toot a horn. My 12yo daughter received a national recognition last month and since I'm the only one in the shop today I'll post about it.
Angelle qualified as PA State Reserve Champion in small bore rifle for the National High School Rodeo Assoc. Junior Division and through generous local sponsors got the opportunity to travel to New Mexico last June to shoot at Nationals. She ended up #43 in the nation out of 111 competitors. The only competitor to shoot the 50yd course with a peep-sighted rifle, amongst expensive scoped rifles, in 60mph winds! Mid pack is where I had hoped she'd place and she ended up as the top shooter for PA.
Unbeknown to me Cinch, the clothing company, has a Team Cinch Shooting Team as well as the Rodeo Team. Qualifying for the team is based on how you placed for your state in your chosen event at nationals and on academics in the first quarter of school. Angelle, as the top PA shooter combined with straight A's in the first quarter earned her the spot for PA! She will receive national magazine recognition, Cinch shirt & jeans and a certificate of accomplishment. The shirt is to be given the night of the PHSRA rodeo at Farm Show and will be of a different color than the other kids that night to show the accomplishment.
As her shooting coach, as well as her father, I get to be doubly proud of her. She is presently at the top for shooting again in PA. Nationals is closer this year so I may actually get to go. If this trend continues she could very well be a 6x member of #teamcinch.

Congrats to you and Angelle, Lon! I love seeing young people getting into the shooting sports, especially the ladies. Sounds like you've got a real sharpshooter there, hope she has continued success!:thumbup:

My F-I-L gives all his grand children nick-names. Especially when he can't pronounce them. Hers' is Angelline so he shortened it to Jelly when she was a day old. It's stuck and what she goes by, except for good ole dad.

This past weekend Angelle completed the fourth round of competition to achieve PA State Champ in PA High School Rodeo Assoc - Junior Division! She will be representing PA once again at nationals in Des Moines, IA next month. Her best friend Jessi (and our "part time daughter") will be representing PA as well as they take up to fourth place in the state to nationals. Jessi would have finished reserve champ but she missed 2 of the shoots. Will I be able to make it? Only timing will tell. The reality of our situation here is fully in front of me and I'll probably end up having to take care of the home front.
