    Jason,
I can't believe you bought the emblem for me... Thank you so much. It's not merely admirable to admit your own mistakes, even so long ago, but to try and make a.... karmic realignment, I guess, is so awesome of you.
It's really hard to be upset about the vandalism of my car when it causes such an act of kindness as it's consequence.

Whatever I can do for you, it's done.
Thank you more for setting such an example of character for me, everyone else in the buick community here, and especially the younger guys who belong here.
    Randy

    Thanks to you too Dan.
The Lesabre has an added sentimentality for me because I drove it 12,000 miles cross-country and back in May... I'll try and figure out how to post some pictures of the car from various points of the journey.

OK V-8 Buick people; I saw this thread and I MUST tell my story.......

When I was in high School My father purchased a new 66 Lesabre Custom in June of 1966. White coupe, black vinyl and a/c. The first thing I did when it came home was to clean it up literally as well as figuratively. First a super detail which the dealer just passed over with a wash, and next, I took compound and removed all the black from the 4 hub caps. Not enough? Well I figured I'd remove the LeSabre emblem from the grille as well as the hood Tri-Shield ornament. I found a piece of plastic and made a desk ornament with that Tri-Shield. The grille badge went into my desk drawer.

Fast forward a few years later. My Mother knocked off the entire front clip and the insurance company said, "fix it". So they did and several months later we had the Lesabre back from the body shop ready to go. It even had a new grille badge and a new Tri-Shield ornament. Of course I removed them as soon as the car came home and duplicated the process I had done when the car was new.

I moved out of there in 1974 and took only the essentials. When my Mother died in 1999 I went back and sure enough these 4 parts actually showed up. I just didn't think to take them and who knows what my sister did with them.I wish I had them now. I better quit writing before I start crying. Mitch
