Has anyone with the 1" wide aluminum reveal molding that runs alnog the top of the quarter and door next to the glass ever replaced their felts?

Mine are right on the fence and since I have them off the car for refinishing I might as well replace them. Will the reguler felts work or do they need to be trimmed to fit properly?

Contact Steele Rubber products. I know someone who did this on a 69 Sportwagon with the wide moldings. Steele sells "generic" weatherstrips (no chrome trim) that fit, but need to be cut to length.
For curved moldings, they suggest putting slits in the weatherstrips every
3/4" so that they can be bent to shape. You then drill holes in them so you can attach them to the doors with the attachment screws.
I have seen this wagon and they look decent. Not as good as OEM, but who can find that.

For 67's both styles (regular and those that attach to the molding) are available from OPG or other repro suppliers.

Send them your worn out rubber and they will make an exact copy with the notch's that mount them to the stainless trim just like the factory . They did 2 full sets for me 3 years ago they cost about $100 a set for all 4 windows

    Will do Alan.

I called them today and ordered a set for "69 skylark hardtop with trim on the door". If those don't work out, I'll send them mine as suggested and they'll fab an identicle set up for me. I'll update this thread as things happen.

The stripping and polishing went very well. All I need are the fuzzies and I can work on putting the doors back together.

Why oh why didn't I buy your other 'vert when I had the chance!:spank:

Alan- how many cars have we ALL said that to? My first 69 GS400 (bought a house), the 68 GS 400 from John Schmidt (used as parts for the 69 GS), Goldie (needed to payfor the wifes billas as she was out on maternity), the 69 SCO 4 speed and the Stage (I blame that one on YOU :moonu: :moonu:).
You'll be kicking yourself later if you sell the 'goon now...:bla: :bla:

    Nothing to report yet.

They still haven't charged my card. They may be in a queue to be built.

Alright everyone, I took one for the team and it payed off. The felts arrived today, 9 days after ordering and they're RIGHT. :TU:

The screw holes and mounting tabs are in the correct positions and the length is correct for 3 out of 4. The 4th is just a shade short(see pic). I mated them up to the moldings and they fit just as the GM felts did. All I have to do is transfer the plastic guides on the rear felts over and I'm good to go.

They do have a slight ripple in them at each location where they punch through the tabs. In my unwashed opinion they'll flatten out as they're very flexible.

Restoration specialties part number 970404 69 Skylark 2dr Htop w/mldg on door. $110 plus $11 shipped to my door, includes inner and outer felts (8).

Break out the plastic and give them a call @ 814-467-9842 as they don't have online ordering yet.

Big thank you to GSXER for the heads up on these folks.

Hi everyone who has this aluminum reveal molding. I see this is an old post, but wanted to see if more Buickā€™s have been restored with this style of window trim. I have a 1968 (vent window). Not sure if 1969 had this molding too. I saw the part number from Restoration Specialties 970404, and just wondering if others who have this style of trim has used this also or if something different has come available. I have seen the weatherstrip with the chrome bead and the the rubber desk that partially goes over the edge, but neither seems to fit on this aluminum trim.

My 69 Motion Equipped car came with the wide moldings, but we had enough good original weatherstrips so we used them.
