After removing the trans crossmember on my 68 skylark conv I found a badly rusted bracket on the pass side frame rail that sat on the top. Any body know what this is and importantly where I can get one ?

A little confused; were these brackets/isolators used on conv models with a boxed frame or just the hard tops with standard frames ?. If I read Tamaraz they sell them for but we're not original to my car.
Convertible and hardtop both use the same bracket.the crossmembers are different. You should check your crossmember ,the ends will rust off in the rubber part of the bracket and it will be to short . If it is you can weld some metal on the ends to fix
I only had the one bracket which is crumbling . I'll take the crossmember out tonite, looks REAL ORIGINAL.If no damage will just clean it up & coat w/ POR 15 . Thanks for the info getting anxious to get this THM350 upgrade back on track.
