Hi Folks, I just wanted to let you all know that Horace is in the Cleveland Regional Hospital, Room 313, in Shelby. He'd been sick all week end and went to the doctor this morning. His oxygen saturation was only 88, so the doctor sent him over for a CT scan of his lungs. He suspected a possible blood clot. They discovered not one but two large blood clots in the lower lobe of his right lung. The doctor there then sent him over for a sonagram of his left leg as it appeared swollen and the skin was tighter than the right one. Sure enough they found blood clots about the size of beans all up and down his left leg. The treatment is 5 days of Heparin to dissolve them. After much testing and many vials of blood taken, 6 one time 8 the next, he was started on the Heparin and taken upstairs to a room next to the ICU. They said it is one step down from ICU, a monitoring unit of some sort. I've put him on several prayer chains/lists and would appreciate it if you would put him on yours. He didn't seem to take this very seriously at first, thinking that because it was in his lower lung and not near his heart that it was minor. The doctor let him know very quickly that this can kill him and how. Anyway, I think he now knows just how very serious this is. Please keep him in prayer. Thanks a bunch! Brenda
I bought a V6 odd fire distributor off him last year and he mailed it to me without payment first even though he had never met me. I of course mailed him the payment and got to meet him at the 2008 GS Nationals. Really a nice guy, I hope he recovers from his problems quickly. I will say alittle prayer for him.
We just got an update from Race's wife. He has been moved to a regular room as it appears the clot busting medicines are working. Prayer works.
Hi folks!!! Thanks for all the prayers and good thoughts. My Doctor said that I dodged the bullet. If the clots had bypassed my lung and gone to my heart, I would be under the sod right now. I did make it to the GS Nats and had a great time. Quite a few people came by our tent and talked to me. Some of them looked like they were surprized to see me. Well... I was surprized that I felt as well as I did and still do. I would especially like to thank Shari and Loyd as well as Roberta. Their place was just across the round track access road and I stopped by to thank them for their prayers. Believe me, Prayer Works!!! I will be on Warfarin rat poison (Coumadin) for a while until my blood clotting time levels out. Thanks again for praying for me and giving your good thoughts. Keep on "Goin' Fast With Class." Race. Glad to see you dodged the bullet. I wish I had the time to make Bowling Green this year. I miss seeing all the old friends I have made over the years. You are definitely one of them. Dave
Looks like the prayers worked eh? Glad to hear your doing better. This happened to a good friend and he's no longer here with us. So you must be living right. Keep it up
