I think I could make a fabricated intake for that kinda money.

 

Two different intakes. Note the Harcourt has separate water section. Wildcat Willpower like picture above, direct from Australia would be better price. Exchange rate is better now. Probably still over $500 though. Best deal would be Offy 360 Equa Flow. New from Summit $400, used about $150-200. I had one with 1" open spacer on a 289. Later went to a Weiand dual plane and I had better throttle response and top end with the Offy. It is a divided single plane similar to the old Poston intake.
