Is the core support on a 69 flat black, semi gloss or? Mine has been primered so long I don’t know what color to spray it. I do remember it being black just don’t remember if it was flat black or semi gloss
Low gloss black. Same sheen the inner fenders, firewall and underside of the hood would be. If your going to use a spray can, my recommendation would be rustoleum satin black.
I like that Rustoleum for sport wheels. The only downside is it is the longest brand to dry. Don’t touch it for a day. I hope there are no bugs around.
At risk of restarting what is, perhaps, the most boring topic on this board: Here's a picture of a satin black restored cowl next to an original, unrestored semi-gloss hood adjustment bumper. Note the reflection on the hood adjustment bumper! This hood adjustment bumper came from a 1970 Skylark 4-door sedan, build in May at Leeds Mo. This 4-door was yellow, and you can see yellow under the semi-gloss black. The satin black cowl was painted by a prior-to-me body man. I've successfully matched some touch-ups with Rustoleum's Satin Black, so that may have been what was used. So perhaps the answer is "it depends on where and when the car was built"?
