Put one in my dads car,..the current clutches used were a Centerforce Dual Friction which didn't last anytime, followed by a Ram 900 series which is a metallic pad clutch,...lasted a couple thousand miles,..next was a RAM metallic 6 Puck competition clutch,..lasted until I added aluminum heads,..smoked it directly after...this new RAM twin disc is freaking awesome not cheap but if you have 575+hp this is what you want
Thanks for the review. I will be looking for a new clutch when I buy a Tremec to replace my Muncie, so I will put the Ram dual disc on the short list. My left leg muscles need a break from using my current clutch. Are you running stock clutch linkage, or did you switch to hydraulic?
Peddle psi is no different than a stock clutch, I actually am going to run a stiffer return spring to put a touch more resistance on it. Yes stock linkage with solid bushings in the z bar and the pushrod Had to turn .250 out of the flywheel to get it to fit in the stock bellhousing
.250"? Wow, that's a bunch. I've got a centerforce dual friction in green car, 2500 miles on it. But I've long thought when the time comes a dual disk ram would likely be my choice. My pedals already hella heavy though (I need to work on that....)
The Ram has sprung discs right? Any rattle at idle with the clutch pushed in? How are the street driving manners?
With the new twin disc it's very smooth and noise free, the 6 puck unit wasn't as smooth kinda on and off no in between bit yes sprung hub except for the floater
