68's & 69's are, by far, my favorite years for Chevelles. Of course, I had a 69 SS396 and my sister had a 68 SS396!
These two have been sitting in this shed for as long as I can remember. Had the camera with me when I passed by today.
I've asked others who know the owner and from what I understand he is not the kind of person I would want to disturb. Not interested in the cars myself anyway.
Yeah, it is stupid, stupid clean. A good buff job and it'd be ready for any event. Here's an oddity (Bricklin) just sitting out and an unloved body style Cougar. Not my faves, but still cool.
Not really random, sitting at a dealer here. Looks like a super nice, solid car. Only so many can pull off pink. Going to call on it tomorrow.....just in case.....
It's funny on the Mopars how people only remember one color name. I've never heard anybody call a pink one Moulin Rouge, always Panther Pink. And you never hear the purple called In Violet, only Plum Crazy or the green called Lime Light instead of Sublime...... I decoded this car, and it's a 2 barrel 318 originally. Is a 4 speed 340 now.
No love for the '63 Impala sitting in the woods down by Hopewell Road? Look just south of the Methodist Church at some firewood guys place on GA60 as well... ws
Someone's been Google Earthing! I was married to my lovely bride at that Methodist Church. Yeah Bill, there's plenty of those examples around here. And the owners will NOT talk to you about them.
Hey Brian... its really weird how some folks think they are secret agents, and some are super friendly. Two weeks ago I took my pal to my glass guys shop. It a LARGE old dairy barn that still had cows downstairs when he bought it. Up front is his glass shop and behind the doors are his personal faves. 1911 H-D's (several)! 80" Indians, a 1932 Auburn boattail roadster,Model T's. a Detroit Electric, a 1963 ORIGINAL Chevy suburban 4x4 2 door with the original Cal. black plate, and a "few" 1955 vettes with all #'s matching, and tons and tons of other goodies... ALL in museum quality or better. "Oh hey, you guys wanna see something special..?" He'd open up another building and show off another part of the collection. Never shows the stuff but takes the 1911 Harley on 100 mile trips frequently. Always takes time to stop what he's doing and show his stuff. That is, unless he's setting a semi tractor window in urethane, but he'll talk to you the whole time. Ill bet SRE knows him... he's out by Hoban Bros H-D in Osman... ws
Wow, Bill, if that Impala is the one I remember (driving Hopewell Church Road to high school) it was there in the ‘80s.) I remember seeing the ‘58 Buick from the school bus as an elementary student! Bryan, does Hopewell Methodist still do their suppers? Talk about some good cooking. Someone used to make a chicken pot pie that I still remember the taste of. Patrick
Jerry, I didn't see the tag, just got what I could from the VIN. A friend of mine is interested in it now, so I'll probably go take a look and I'll get all the info off the tag then and let you know. Would be odd I think for a plain Jane 318 car to be a High Impact color, but I'm sure it was done. Mopar seemed to let wild and strange option combos fly much more commonly then other brands.
Those are Playboy Pink custom painted cars they gave to Playmate of the year back then. Lots of different cars got that treatment including a Pantera. Not the same color and not factory.
