We've got a really good MAC guy here, so most of them use those. But there's a few Milwaukee guns out there, too, and a couple with whatever the Matco guy sells. If I was still wrenching, I'd have done the switch to electric myself.
I have an 18v DeWalt 1/2". Had it for about 5 years. Works like a champ! I sold all my air tools, cordless for me!
I learned the hard way that when you make a commitment to a brand you have to stay with it for the batteries. They are so darn expensive! And you really need two so there's one in the charger waiting. I bought my first set (drill& circular saw) 20 years ago when I built the 4' fence around my 1 acre "dog yard". It made life so easy. But now I end up buying tools on ebay because the manufacture has moved on to a new battery design. Rats!
Before I started buying off the tool truck I asked around at a few of the local shops who's doing the best job. One of the guys I asked was a diehard Snap On guy, The rest were saying the local Cornwell guy is the most consistent with the best support. I called the local Snap On, Cornwell, and Matco guys. Mac was out because he wasn't supporting the small dealer right down the street, so I didn't figure he'd want to sell to a machine shop. The Snap On and Matco guys didn't even bother to stop by. I have spent somewhere between 10 and 20k with the Cornwell guy. He's here every Friday, and I look forward to his visit. I really like having a good tool guy, even though I'm not a mechanic.
I guess I shouldn’t have left those two Milwaukee’s so close together for that last pic. I came into the shop this morning and found this little guy laying there. It’s a cute 2554-20. If you look close, you can definitely tell it has it’s mothers nose.
Here's hoping you folks changing tires aren't trusting your airless impact wrenches for the final torque. I did that once and the outcome turned out to be hilarious but it could have been a horror story! Bob H.

The battery is marked M18, so I’m going to guess male. the big one is a beast. The little one I use for running my Kurt vises in and out when I’m trying to get them open or closed all the way. I’ll snap a picture tomorrow of what that means.
@ Mike, I see you prefer quality stuff. Kaeser is one of the finest manufacturer of air compressors. Founded in Coburg, very close to where I live. +1 on that one, and definitely not with a 5 buck unit from Harbor Freights.
Was a big Milwaukee fan until they changed the batteries and left me with several set of unusable tools. Went to Dewalt and a few years ago they did the same thing. On the + side, sort of, Dewalt does not last as long so as I wear them out I get the new batteries with the replacement tools
