Hi all my names Ray Therrien from Massachusetts and I just wanted to post a few pics of my first buick, a 70 Stage -1 GSX. Ive been looking on and off for 1 for at least the past 7 years. I bought it from well known Buick collector Bob Lindquist. All work done on the car was performed by Gran Sport autobody in Kahnawake, Quebec, Canada www.total.net/~gsauto/ Ive owned lots of GM muscle over the years including a 70 LS6 chevelle, 70 W-30 442 and a 69 Yenko chevelle, but always wanted a 70 GSX. I finally found the right car at the right time in the right condition, the car is Saturn yellow with the original stage 1 motor, no A/C, automatic, documented and very original condition. Any help with locating buick clubs, parts info etc. would be appreciated. Im also looking for a 87 grand national in the New england area if anyone knows of a nice one for sale. Thanks- raymo442@aol.com 781-344-4518

Stage1 Registry Hi Ray - Good to talk with you. What a beautiful GSX. Congratulations on your recent purchase. Please see the following V8Buick Link for details about the factory Stage1 registry. Basically, I'm looking for your name, full VIN, all cowl data plate information (Paint code, trim code, Fisher body #, and build date), and all sales option codes as they relate to the 1970 GSX new car order form found Here. Also, please note, no personal information is contained on the registry for general viewing (no last name or car serial #) Just go through the GSX order form and list the options your car originally came with (like AX, B8, C5, etc). I know you have the build sheet and the P-O-P. Let me know if you have any questions/concerns. You can e-mail me (455stage1@comcast.net) and I'll call you. It's better to talk on the phone then send e-mails back and forth. Thanks!
No Comments? Hey..see lots of views of my GSX but no comments, what you guys dont like stage 1 GSXs or something?(sarcasm of course!) Any other buick nuts from the New England area? Cant wait till spring is here and i can pull the X car out of storage...im itchin to drive take it to the cruises and see all my mopar buddies quiver and sweat.
Re: We're just jealous, Ray- Hey John, you must know Bob Lindquist whom i bought my GSX from since hes a michigan guy? I agree, Keith & Duane do great work & have some nice GSXs of their own! Keith has driven my car & says mid to high 12s should be no problem.......so bring on your car!
Nice car Ray. It took me a good while to find mine also. But it was well worth the wait. Had to go through a lot of junk and high prices before I found one that was nice at a price I could handle but I really found a good one and got it just ahead of another guy who was about to buy it. Timing, Timing, Timing. Then several years later a freind of mine decided to sell his and gave me first shot at it so now I have 2. I'm a happy guy. Great car. Randy
Wow 2 GSXs!....wish i had 2 of em but 1 is enough for now! Looking for a nice 87 GN right now..maybe the future will hold even more buicks...we will see!
Beautifull GSX Ray!!!!:beer Great to see another MA. Buick man. We must have quite a few GS guys from MA. on the board now. Lets see if we can get a count, a spring time cruise with a convoy of GS"s sounds really cool!!!! Oh and Ray you are right about the buicks, one is never enough:laugh:
Something just hit me: I have never seen a GSX in the flesh (or is that sheetmetal). I need to get out more.. Todd
Chris i dont believe i have ever seen your black & gold 72 GS before? I have been heavily into the car show and cruise scene in Mass. for a loooooong time and i go everywhere! Would really like to see it sometime. Do you take it anywhere as far as cruises or shows? I also want to thank everyone for their flattering comments on my GSX...THANKS!
Hey Ray, Did the car get there yet ? It was sure cold when we were loading it up in the trailer !! Had about a week straight of lows of -20 Below F. Yes that is a nice car!!! There isn't 20 miles on that motor, it is fresh.Tranny too. Let us know when you get the car. I hope it get's there safe and sound. It was sure striking to see the Saturn Yellow stand out with the back ground of white snow. Always sad to see one leave. Well at least there are three other GSX'S left to look at. Too bad we can't drive 'em till spring !!! Good Luck with the car, we better see Ya at the Nationals with the car sometime !! Keith
I have been in the car seen for years also Ray. Bought my first GS 1971 455 when I was 17yrs old ( just turned 40 ooh that hurt typing that) Eventually I sold the GS and went a few years without one. Then I picked up a nice 1972 GS350 ragtop to cruise and the buick blood started flowing again:grin: Then a good friend decided to sell his 1972 GS455, so I flew to Nashville and drove it home 1250 miles. Sold a third 1972 GS to a friend of mine to make room. My motor is out for a rebuild and should be ready soon. As far as GS or skylark cars in MA. I probably know about all of them. Lets here from all the MASS guys, mabye get a list going. When I get a chance I will post a list of all the cars I know ofuzzled: It does get to be an obsession after awhile:beer
ultimate cruise? Nice cars! It is good to see and hear from Buick car owners in the New England area! How about we all get together and cruise to Flint, Michigan for the 100th Buick Celebration in July. There is a caravan originating in Boston. There is more info available in other posts on this BB. Try this link: http://www.v8buick.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=11986&highlight=celebration
Thanks again all for your nice comments on my GSX. I plan on registering it in the GSX registry and Satge 1 registry soon..........
