Bill - I used the standard cargo springs on a bolt in rear with no issues. The insert fits in the small loop. I think you can see it in the pic.
Hey Bill... I can see the D plate with a bolt and nut, but which cargo springs are you referring to? Are those stock springs being called cargo for the rears? I didnt have a chance to get up and personal back there today, but its definitely on the agenda. I had a 1970 GS455 that I put station wagon springs in and it was hideous... ws
the usual Moog CC501 - variable rate spring - doesn't bottom out when something heavy is in the trunk or the front lifts up, lol. Lots of recommendations on the board here. Stock height and rides nice. http://www.v8buick.com/index.php?threads/cargo-springs-on-66-rear-end-in-70-gs.325276/#post-2719899
Had to go back out and grab some pics after dinner. The rears are bolted to the axle and the the tops look round, with no pigtail (?) into a pocket with an insulator. Im wondering if I should just bag these springs or change them for something sturdier. The stance on the Special does need some attention for sure! ws
