I have a 1964 Wildcat that I just got running and back on the road after 17 years in storage. There is a round red light that keeps coming on and going out on its own. It's right between the turn signal indicators. I don't have any manuals yet, does anyone know what this light means?
That could be it, at first I thought it only came on when I used high beams, but then it kept going out even with highs on. The dash lights blink out so maybe it's part of that wiring issue.
High beam indicator. Prior to 1972, high beam indicators were red in color. Starting in 1972, all were blue in color.
The bulb is the "twist-loc" and you can swap around with another. Sometimes the bronze tabs on the socket and copper trace on the PC board oxidize, or the tabs break off, or the wires on the bulbs break. The connector on the back of the dash has a "circle" of pins and those pins can loosen and/or break. Since it is intermittent, that is a place to start. You can find the service and chassis manuals on ebay and they are worth every penny you spend on them. Here are a couple links to the wiring diagrams. http://linkinx.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/wiring-diagram-buick-wildcat-with-simple-pics.jpg http://linkinx.com/wp-content/uploa...gram-buick-wildcat-with-template-933x1251.jpg
