I have been looking through this forum and I cant find any thread about it.
Is there any who knows how to remove the door panel on a Electra 1965 (power window)?
I have loosened the screws at the armrest and at the bottom of the panel and the handle for vent window but it seems like it is a screw behind the handle (that one you shut the door with) is that possible, how can I dismount it without damaging anything?
I am grateful for any ideas

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger! I rarely get a response to most of the stuff I put up as well. Maybe we haven't made "club status" yet... You really need to post some pics of what yer doing...
Is there a pull strap on the upper panel? That's gotta come off. Is the door opening handle still on? That's probably got a snap ring like the vent window has. Is there a chrome plastic base mounting the arm rest? Little screws like to bury themselves in carpeting too...
My 70 GS has screws around the bottom and then push pins up the sides, and a pretty tight fit at the weather strip. You need to gently force it apart. Theres also the possibility of GM running a bead of black sealer around the OD of the panel and maybe the handles for drafts. Owing to the curve of the door, try to open the bottom and look up as you go. Youll have an
AH HA!! moment Im sure. Sometimes I think Houdini was on the design staff ! Bill in TR

OK 65 Electra Man: I believe there is a 5/16 screw that keeps the door paddle in place on these. They are hard to get to on some models. A good quality box wrench might do the trick. Mitch

I have removed the vent handle and all the small screw in the carpet.
The armrest are mounted from the backside, I can see the screw for it. But is it the handle that has to bended away to find the screw?
I has upload a picture, hope its visible.

I remember those handles now,,, had them in my 1962 Chevy Impala SS... There may just be a hidden set screw that youll see when you lift the handle... those design guys really like to hide stuff LOL. I would really be surprised that the pull strap is only attached to the panel and not the door frame itself. If a gust of wind pulls that 150 pound door away from you, you'd be sitting with that handle in your hand and 2 broken door hinges. Theres probably even a re-enforcing strip inside the door for that pull bar as well IMHO.
Had an AH HA moment, and did an ebay search and found these... looks like the handles have a retaining screw (Phillips?) through the handle end into the end of the shaft. Hope this helps! Bill in TR

And yet these are from the same guy stating 2 door units that look like they require the snap ring type... Hmmm

OK Electra Man: Is there some plate in that chrome grab handle that might pry off and uncover the mounting screws? Mitch

    Thanks all for your help!

If I had used my glasses from the beginning maybe I could had solved it earlier

At the bottom of the chrome grab handle there was the screw I missed.

Now its time for some cleaning and grease to have the window sliding more easily

Once again, thanks all of you!
